What did you do today?

I picked Lauren and Daniel up from school today and as we were walking along ~ I was chatting to Lauren, asking her what she had done etc ~ she told me all about a boy in her class being sick in the school swimming pool (sounds like fun!!), she told me she had been to the library and chosen a new book, she said that a girl in her class was naughty and got told off for talking in assembly!! ~ she then proceeded to tell me all about one of the dinner ladies taking a skipping rope out in the playground at lunchtime and how she (Lauren) had done the most skips (78 I think it was), she told me all about who was whose girlfriend and boyfriend and who had fallen out with who that day, and who said what, to who about something or another (it all gets very confusing you know!!).......she told me all about what she had for school dinners and that she wanted to take sandwiches tomorrow and then finished off by telling me that she has a school trip next Tuesday that I have to send money in for (Great!!!)............I then turned to Daniel, who had been wandering along next to us, not listening to a word that was being said (because thinking about the next episode of Dr Who is far more important ha ha!!!)..........I asked him what he had been up to at school, he looked at me, thought for a moment ~ hesitated slightly (as if I had asked him what the winning lottery numbers were for this week!!), and then just smiled and replied " Oh ~ Nothing!!!"...................................That's my boy !!! A man (or should that be BOY of very few words!!! ha ha).......... Either that or he is used to not being able to get a word in edge ways with his sister about (she could talk for England tee hee!!!).....

I love our little chats that we have ~ although half the time I have no idea what she is going on about lol!!! ~ they are precious little moments that I will treasure and remember forever!!!

My boys are the same. They tell me nothing. If they have a school dinner and i ask what they had they will say nothing or can't remember!
Take Care!

Hi Tabitha

How different Lauren and Daniel are - but each so adorable. When I was teaching I always found it fascinating how the boys (not all, but most of them) were so straight forward and easy going. No games going on with them. Yet, often the girls could chat to each other all day if given the chance.

How wonderful that Lauren so willingly and happily shares everything about her day with you. What a special bond you both have.

Love and hugs
Elise

Girls love to talk! I know I really loving talking. Your kids sound precious! Enjoy it while it lasts, because before you now it, they'll be teenagers and neither of them will want to talk to you.

Hi Dani ~ She is pretty funny some time ~ a real old soul (if you know what I mean)!! You are so right about the difference between boys and girls ~ it is pretty funny having the 2 extremes ~ although they have driven me mad today by bickering and fighting!!
love and hugs ~ Tabitha
(and my 2 mad children ha ha!!)XX

Hi Amanda ~ We do have days like that, although Lauren seems to remember things in every small detail, but sometimes (rarely), she is in a mood and will not tell me a thing!!
Have a nice evening,

Hi Elise,
I know exactly what you mean ~ there are loads more girls that boys in Laurens class (about 12 girls and only 4 boys ~ they have a very small class!!). God knows how their teacher copes with all the chattering and girlie bickering ha ha!!
I do love it when she chats away to me and she is very sweet!!
love and hugs ~ Tabitha XXX

Hi Christy,
I know, I should make the most of it ~ I can't deny that I am not looking forward to the teenage years ~ I think I will leave the country on a very long cruise ha ha!!
Take care,

Oh you are SOOOO lucky that she will chat to you like that. i really hope it continues. I have just finished reading 'Queen Bees and Wannabes' and it says about how if you commence the whole 'talking relationship and girl time' at a young age it makes it much easier when they become teenagers from them to speak to you.

Sounds like you're on the right track!!!!
