Bring the Rain.....

Should have known that the one day of sunshine that we have had this week would not last ~ now the rain is here and looks like it will be hanging around until the weekend ~ should have guessed that since it is half term break and I have 5 children (including my 2 little stars) to look after ~ that we would be stuck here inside ~ while it pours down outside (all day so far).

The tumble dryer has at last been fixed ~ the place had started to look like a chinese laundry ~ with clothes everywhere trying to get them dry! I now have so much washing to catch up on ~ it will take me until the weekend to get on top of it!

We have had a nice few days ~ we spent the Bank Holiday monday at a beach close to where we live ~ Andy came with us and we had a great time ~ a very nice relaxed day ~ although we did all catch the sun a little bit more than we should!

Lauren had an extra dance rehearsal yesterday for her Hip Hop dance that she is doing for the show ~ she is very impressed as it is to a High School Musical song ~ which has made her day!

All in all things are good here ~ busy ~ but good!

I know so much about them By the kindness that they give,
And this little scrap of metal Takes me in to where they live.

Week Over ~ now relax!

Another week has ended ~ another mad week behind me and I am sooooo pleased that it is the weekend again! Even better this weekend is a Bank Holiday weekend, so that means three days with no work! (Hurray!!!!!). The weather is predicted to be very warm and hot and sunny ~ so I think that I will take the children to the beach or somewhere nice where we can just relax and have a bit of fun.

Next week is also the school half term (again), so the children have a week off school ~ we have lots of nice things planned ~ including a visit next Thursday to a country park where there is a big play park and a lake and a train that you can ride on ~ I hope that it stays nice as the children all love to run about and we had a picnic by the lake last time we went, which was wonderful (apart from the bit where a swan tried to steal the sandwiches!).

Daniel is getting ready for his week away in June with the school. He is excited about it ~ and I know that he will have a wonderful time, although I will miss him alot ~ he has never been away from me for that long before! I suppose that it is all part of growing up ~ but it is hard letting go!!

Laurens dance rehearsals are taking over the whole of my life ha ha !!! She is dancing nearly every afternoon after school and on Saturday mornings too ~ I am sure that she will be more than ready when it is time for the annual show in July! This year she has 4 seperate dances to learn and is very excited as she gets to wear a tutu for the ballet dance this year ~ I cannot wait to see them on stage ~ all dancing about in their tutus!

I am doing ok ~ things are going great and I am very happy! Thank you all for your kind comments on my last blog post (aswell as the lovely e mails that some of you sent me) ~ your messages meant such alot!!

I know that I have been slightly absent recently ~ but things are a bit less mad now and so I should be back in the swing of it all!

Well, had better head off to bed now ~ thank goodness I get a lie in tomorrow morning ~ as Lauren does not have to be at dance rehearsals until 11 am!

So, here's the deal.......

All those of you that have actually noticed that I have been slightly sparce with the blog posts just recently .....may be wondering why???

Yes, I have been quite busy and there has been alot going on, BUT there is also another rather more interesting reason.........

I HAVE MET SOMEONE!!!!!!!!

(well, to be a bit more precise ~ I have met a man ha ha ha ha !!!!).

All those of you that told me that it would happen when I least expected it and also told me that there is someone out there wondering where I am too ~ well, you were VERY right!!!

I will not go into too many details at the moment ~ It is early days and I don't want to jinx it ha ha !! But let me just tell you that I am very happy (very very very happy actually!), he is kind and sweet and makes me laugh ~ and has restored my faith in everything that I thought I no longer believed in!!!

The children have also met him ~ more by chance than actually planned ~ but they really like him, so that is good! Lauren actually convinced him to play snap cards with her at the weekend ~ which she was suitably impressed with (especially as he let her win!!) ~ so as things stand at the moment ~ it is all going well ~ things are good, and I intend to make the most of it (for however long it lasts!!!!).

So there you go ~ I have been neglecting you all in blog land recently ~ but for a very good reason! I promise to update you all soon and tell you the whole story ~ but for now I will keep you all wondering ha ha ha ha!!!!!

The madness has ended......I think!

Yippee ~ the mad week has ended.

I am sorry that my blog posts have been few and far between these last few weeks ~ I blame it totally on having children ha ha !!!

Daniel has now completed his SATs exams at school ~ he has gone off happily each day with his lucky mascot under his arm and he seems quite positive about the whole thing ~ I am not sure how long we have to wait for the results, but I will update you when I know how he has done.
He can now relax and enjoy the rest of the time that he has at Junior school ~ before he moves up to senior school in September. He has a week long residential trip in June ~ so he is excited about that ~ I will miss him when he goes, as he has never been away from me for more than a weekend in the past.

Lauren is in the swing of practicing for her dance show that she will be performing in July. I have seen a few of the dances and they are very good ~ she is such a talented dancer and I am so proud of her. She has to dress up as a cat in one of the dances ~ which is very sweet and I am still waiting to see what the other costumes will be. Last year she was only in one dance, but this year she will be in 4, so that will be great.

I have not been up to alot. The car had to go for its MOT on Thursday, which I am happy to report it passed with flying colours ~ I didn't expect it not to ~ considering the short time that I have had it ~ but you just never know with cars ~ they can be tricky at times, especially ones that belong to me ha ha !!

I had the last night of my first aid course this evening ~ so I am now fully qualified for the next 3 years in Paediatric first aid ~ which is great. I have loads of other courses to go on and I am in the middle of organising them all ~ but things are about to get alot busier (if that is possible ha ha ).

We are having a lazy weekend this weekend, not alot planned. The weather is predicted to be rain, rain and a bit more rain, so that should be fun!!!! My tumble dryer is broken aswell, which means that there will be little to no chance of getting the clothes dry ~ I really must call out the Hotpoint repair man again ~ we should be on first name terms, the amount of times that I have had to call them out!!

Well, am off to bed now ~ but will be back soon with more updates. The children had their school photo taken the other day and it is very sweet ~ so I will have to post a copy of that on here for you all to see.

I will get around to visiting you all over the weekend ~ I have not forgotten you and cannot wait to see what you have all been up to XXXXXXX

I am still alive!!!!

Hello there ~ for anyone who may have been wondering ~ I am still alive and here ~
Just sort of took a slightly unplanned blog break ~ well, actually I have been so busy sorting a whole lot of stuff out ~ and my bum has not touched the seat all week ~ I don't even think I have been over to visit you all in a while (which is NOT like me) ~ but I am back now and I will be over to catch up and leave comments ~ so see you all soon!!!

Things have been slightly manic here ~ Daniel has got his SATS exams at school next week, so he has had a lot of after school clubs to cram on his revising (I think that the pressure they put on these kids at 11 is sooooo unfair!) ~ and Laurens preparartions for her dance show in July are also in full swing ~ and I have had a mountain of paperwork to complete ~ so all in all ~ time has been in short supply!

I have also been having alot of fun ~ I have been out a few times ~ and last night one of my friends had the children overnight so that I could go out with some girl friends ~ well, I had the most fantastic time ~ I have never laughed that much ~ not ever!!
We went for a chinese meal ~ a buffet actually and then went on to a bar for a few (well, actually LOTS....) of drinks after! It was great ~ I think I finally rolled into bed at some ungodly hour ~ but it was just what I needed and we are planning to get together more often!

Apart from that, life has been ticking along quite nicely really ~ nothing exciting to report ~ just the same as usual!!

Catching up!

The days seem to have whizzed on by so quickly ~ my bum hasn't touched a seat long enough for me to write a blog post ~ let alone come and visit most of my bloggy friends ~ I will be over to see you all later ~ promise!!

So ~ a quick catch up for you ~ Friday the children were off school and the weather was typically wet and overcast ~ so we just did indoor things ~ a bit of craft and made some chocolate crispy cakes ~ which lasted about 5 minutes ~ the kids loved them!!
Friday night I had the second week of my paediatric first aid course ~ I now have 6 hours under my belt and another 6 hours still to do ~ so another 2 friday evenings spent bandaging and resususitating and all that jazz! Then I do not have to requalify for another 3 years so I shouldn't complain really (I do like to complain though ha ha !!).

Saturday was spent just mooching about ~ we did go shopping and had to go and get another fish ~ as Edward went to fishy heaven ~ we now have Edward 2, who seems to be doing ok (fingers crossed!!). Saturday night we had a DVD evening and the children had popcorn and treats.

Sunday we did the weekly food shop ~ I need to tie Laurens hands together next week to stop the little madam putting things in the trolley!! Then we had an afternoon at a bowling party ~ which was great fun. I am ok at bowling ~ but was particularly good this time ~ as they had the kiddy guards up at the side ~ I even got a strike!!!! Amazing what you can do when the ball cannot plonk off the side of the alley every time tee hee!!

Today has been wet again ~ so our plans to go to the Zoo have been shelved until a warmer dryer weekend ~ it seems silly to pay money and then spend the whole time under cover!

Instead we went to the cinema and saw this film.......

Coraline.

It was actually quite good ~ and Lauren loved it. It was quite a dark film and freaked Lauren out in places, but as far as films go ~ it wasn't bad and it certainly has a moral behind it too!!

After the film I took the kids to Pizza Hut (although god alone knows where they put all the food, after the popcorn, hotdog and sweets they had!!) ~ and they ate enough pizza and pasta and salad to keep them going for a week!! (Please note that my children do not usually eat this much junk in one long weekend ~ but sometimes it just happens ha ha !!)

I am back to work tomorrow, although the children do not go back to school until Wednesday ~ when Lauren has a school trip to a farm and then Thursday they have the school photos ~ so we will have to wait and see what the mugshot looks like this year!! It is quite sad really ~ as this is their last year together in the same school ~ so this is their last school photo together ~ until Lauren goes to senior school, which isn't for a good few years yet!!

Well, another week is stretching out ahead of me ~ so I had better go and make a start on the ironing ~ oh joy!!
