While I was out shopping at the weekend, I bought some gingerbread cookie dough ~ so that Lauren could make some cookies, unfortunately with one thing and another we haven't had time to do them until tonight!!!
Here is Lauren making her gingerbread cookies ~ which she decided should be in the shape of holly ~ as she wanted to use my christmas holly cutter......don't ask me why ~ she just wanted to!! She was not happy until every last bit of dough had been used and then she put them all on the baking tray. I cannot deny that the smell was (diet breakingly!!!) gorgeous ~ but I have not let one pass my lips ~ I am so good ha ha!!
The end product was lovely and after their tea, Dan and Lauren sat and ate hot gingerbread cookies and drank their milk!!!
I love nights like these ~ when there is peace in the house, everything is calm and quiet ~ and the children are stuffing their faces with home made gingerbread cookies!!!

ok, tab... i saw the first picture and was sure that you'd been hiding your baking talents from the world!!! then scrolled down to see that it was lauren who was rolling the dough, cutting the cookies, and baking them...
it tickled my funny bone to the point that i almost spat my pibb!!!

they do look yummy, and i can almost smell them from here:b i bet your house smells most heavenly right now!!!

Hi Tania ~ I know, total peace in my house tonight, that hasn't happened in ages!! I think the gingerbread kept them quiet ~ must try it more often ha ha!!

Oh Dani ~ you did make me laugh ~ you should know me well enough by now ha ha!!! Lauren was totally responsible for the whole process (thank god one of us can cook tee hee!!), all I did was open the dough packet, put the flour on the table and then put the finished product in the oven (oh and nearly forget to take them out!!!!).
The house still smells great, and it is killing me ~ I love gingerbread BUT I want to get to my goal weight before summer really starts (I will probably get there by christmas ha ha !!).
Dan and Loz have nearly eaten them all already ~ I hope they aren't sick tonight!!!!!
I will tell Lauren about the pie tomorrow ~ she is snoring in bed at the moment (honestly ~ my girl snores like a drain ha ha!!)

Hi Amanda ~ believe me, I have the sum total of NO willpower!!!
It has totally killed me tonight ~ smelling that gorgeous smell (don't get me wrong, I could have one ~ but then I would eat the lot ha ha!!!!).
I have now lost 24 pounds and am hoping to lose the next 4 this week to make it 2 stone.....still a bit more to go though!!
The house is still peaceful ~ I love the quiet ~ I had almost forgotten what it was like ha ha!!
Bet you know that feeling with 4 boys tee hee!!!

Hi Amanda ~ I have been dieting forever ha ha!!! No seriously, I have been doing the diet about 6 weeks and I am pleased with what I have lost so far ~ I still have a way to go yet ~ but I would like to get to that 2 stone mark when I go this week !!!
The gingerbread is safely stashed away in a tupperware box ~ now I can't smell it ~ I don't want it ha ha!!

Like Dani, I saw the first picture and thought YOU baked the cookies (I was very impressed). Then scrolled down to see that the very clever Lauren was responsible for these gems.
Sounds like one of those nights that you will all remember for a long time to come. I can imagine the smell wafting through your house, it's making my mouth water just thinking about it. You are so disciplined to not give into that temptation.
