A little update

The wall in the livingroom is painted ~ I am very sorry that there are no before photos ~ but it was basically magnolia and it is now soft truffle ~ the other walls are still magnolia for the moment ~ they are getting painted in a lighter colour ~ at the moment I am trying to decide between Muted stone and Just Walnut (I just love paint names ~ I want that job ~ naming the paints, I could spend hours coming up with names tee hee!!)

Anyway ~ here is 'the wall!!' ~ the other wall in this photo still has the old border around the top ~ that will be gone soon!! I decided that I hated that border about 2 seconds after I had put it up (bit late then I know!!)

The colour is actually quite alot darker than in these photos ~ but for some reason the flash is making it look lighter and if I take the flash off it doesn't come out at all!!!!
And the day would not be complete without a picture of my two gorgeous little stars who are now safely back after their weekend with their Dad ~ they are happy to be back ~ and I am happy to have them home!! I have missed them more than I EVER thought possible.
I love these two little people more than life itself XXXXX

No more sagging (tee hee!!)

You will be very glad to hear that there is no more sagging in the bust department!! (see yesterdays post). I would not like to vouch for the lack of sagging minus bra (tee hee) ~ but I have treated myself to not one, not two, but three wonderful brilliant (correctly fitted) new bras (yippeeeeee!!!!!!).

This diet has definitly left my bust an alarming amount smaller and I was still wearing the same bra ~ how silly am I? I sort of forgot about the under wear part ~ too busy having to buy new clothes I suppose ~ BUT it has been rectified and I am now very well supported (no, sorry there will be no photographic evidence ~ incase I should scare the elderly, very young or infirm ~ !!).
I intend to parade around the house in my new bra when Lauren comes home ~ to show off said VERY WELL SUPPORTED BUST ~ and have vowed that I will never take it off when she is around again (yes, I may have to wear it all the time ~ even in the bath .......just kidding!!).

I have been quite a busy thing today ~ what with bra fitting and shopping for new jeans (that don't fall down). My friend Jane and I went off this morning on a girly shopping outing ~ it was wonderful!! Just us girlies ~ we even stopped for coffee (and one of us had cake ~ I will give you a clue ~ it wasn't me ha ha !!). We tried on loads of clothes ~ some of which were just amazing and some of which were hilarious ~ we tried on boots, shoes, hats, and sunglasses. All I bought in the end was a new pair of jeans ~ but if I had an open ended bank account (or had been very stupid and taken the credit card with me!!) ~ I would have spent an absolutely obscene amount. Dieting has cured my addiction to chocolate ~ but it has now been replaced with a total love of clothes ~ especially now that I have gone down quite a few sizes ~ the choice is amazing!! I may have to win the lottery soon or invent something fabulous and become very rich (tee hee).

Once we had done the whole shopping thing ~ we stopped for a light lunch ~ Then we moved on to the DIY superstore ~ to buy the paint for the living room!!

I had decided on a paint called Soft Truffle (sounds good enough to eat!) ~ so we went and found that ~ as well as some paint pads and paint brushes and then we looked at the furniture! There was a gorgeous chocolate brown leather sofa there ~ which I have totally fallen in love with ~and which was on sale ~ but is still quite alot of money ~ we sat on it and talked about how great it would look in the living room with the newly painted wall and the new curtains and the new furniture ~ infact we sat there soooooo long that a very nice sales man came over and asked us if he could help!! We then decided that we should move on ~ so we wandered around the lighting section and the section that had all the dining tables and chairs (something else that is on my never ending wish list!!). I think that we must have been in there for at least an hour ~ probably the longest that I have ever spent in a DIY store!!

The livingroom wall is half painted ~ I decided to stop after I fell off the step ladder (twice) ~ which is quite normal for me ~ I get so carried away painiting that I forget that I am actually not standing on the floor and fall off (yes ~ I am very silly!!). I would treat you to a photo of the half painted wall ~ but as usual the camera has not been charged up ~ so there is no photo! I should have it finished tomorrow morning ~ and the bit that still needs painting doesn't require me and the step ladder to have contact ~ so it should be accident free!!

It's all downhill from here!!!!!

I was getting dressed this morning ~ My sweet little Lauren was lying in my bed watching me.....

"Mummy" She sweetly said
"Yes Darling" I answered
"I don't think that you should lose any more weight"
"why's that sweetheart?" I answered (thinking that maybe I looked so marvelously slim that she thought I should stop!!)
"Because your boobies are going all saggy now!!"
"Oh!" I left the room rather quickly!!

Actually she may be right ~ I think that I need to go and get measured for a new Bra! This weight loss lark is great ~ new, smaller clothes ~ but my chest is slowly deflating and I haven't invested in a new smaller bra ~ hence the chest is obviously looking a bit on the saggy side (tee hee!!).......tomorrow I will brave the lingerie (or however you spell it!!) store ~ to be measured for a new bra ~ for my now saggy boobs!!

I love my sweet gorgeous daughter for pointing this out to me!!! XXXX

I am a little bit addicted!!

I do not usually have an addictive personality......well, unless you count the small addiction that I used to have for cadburys fruit and nut chocolate!! (I am now weaned off it for good ha ha !!)

My latest addiction ~ is to the Twilight books!!

I read Twilight and totally loved it ~ now I am nearly finished New Moon ~ which I am enjoying just as much ~ so much actually that I was still reading it at 1 am this morning ~ I got so engrossed in it that I completely lost track of time! I will more than likely get it finished tonight ~ and then I can start on the next one ~ Eclipse. I am enjoying them so much that I don't want to be reading them so fast (I can't help it!!), as it means that I will be at the end of the story too soon! I would never have thought that a story which included vampires and werewolves would ever be my cup of tea! BUT ~ in this case it is.

The children are spending the weekend with their dad this weekend ~ so the week has been a bit stressed ~ I have to pack their stuff tonight and get it all ready as he is picking them up tomorrow morning and bringing them back on Sunday. Although they are both a little bit apprehensive about the whole thing ~ I am sure that once they get there, they will be ok and have a nice time.

2 items of the new furniture that I ordered arrived today ~ which was a bit of a shock ~ as I have not sorted the old unit out yet ~ I suppose that I will at least get the time to do that this weekend ~ I really can't win ~ the bed I ordered took FOREVER to come and now this arrives in super fast time ~ I know, I really shouldn't complain!!

Those of you who have read my blog often will already be aware that in times of stress ~ I tend to shop (judging by my bank balance this week ~ I must lead a very stressful life ha ha !!!!) Today I bought 2 CDs ~ Awake by Josh Groban and the Gabriella Cilmi album. Both are excellent ~ I have listened to them both and love them. There is a song on the Josh Groban CD called You are loved (don't give up) ~ which I totally love ~ I must have listened to it a thousand times (tee hee!!!).

I have also managed to slim down yet another dress size this last month ~ so the latest pair of new jeans that I have basically been living in (I do wash them ~ I promise!!) ~ no longer fit and have annoyed the hell out of me today by falling down !! I think that another visit to the clothes shop will be in order this weekend too. I remember when I first started dieting ~ a friend of mine who had lost 6 stone said to me that I shouldn't pay out on too many new clothes as she had done that and promptly slimmed out of them ~ I should have listened to her ~ because this is what is happening ~ each time I go down a size I get so excited that I splurge a bit on new clothes, only for them to be much too big 4 weeks later!! The problem is that you end up having absolutely NOTHING to wear ~ at all ~ I am fed up of wearing the same things ~ because they are all that fit (and don't fall down).....I will be glad when I am where I want to be and at the size I want to be ~ then I can just go and buy everything new (in my dreams.......that reminds me ~ I must do the lottery!!).

Weigh in day again!!

Wednesday is weigh in day and it has almost slowed to a big STOP this week ~ with only a pound lost this week (yes ~ I know ~ better a pound off than on!!). I have now reached a loss of 50 pounds ( 3 stone and 8 pounds), so I suppose that I should expect a bit of a slow down!! It was actually recommended to me today that I should maybe eat more calories ???? as this may give my metabolism a boost and kick start the weight loss again!! Interesting concept ~ not sure how that works ~ but I can sure give it a try!!! (I don't think that these extra calories are meant to be carbs or chocolate tee hee !!!).

It has been totally mad today ~ with 4 children running around the place ~ we went to my friends house and as she is also a childminder ~ that added another 2 children to the madness ~ it will seem so quiet when they go back to school next week!!

I have an ironing pile that is almost reaching the ceiling ~ so I had better go and make a start on that!! I still haven't managed to watch the DVD I was sent (the other boleyn girl )~ maybe I will get a chance this weekend while the children are with their dad. We sat and watched Nims Island this evening which the children loved ~ it was good ~ but it would be nice to watch a grown up film for a change (ha ha !!). I just never seem to have the time these days ~ I could do with an extra few hours in the day ~ but then I would probably find they were filled aswell!!

Off for a steamy hour .......with the iron (don't get excited ~ Brad Pitt hasn't moved in!!!) ~ See you all later XXX

I have just read in the TV magazine that my 2 most fav programmes are coming back on ~ after they were put on hold over the summer ~ for Big Brother (which in my personal opinion was the biggest load of rubbish ever this year!!!).

Bank Holiday ~ Bedlam and Blues!!!

I am convinced that the weather knows when we have a bank Holiday here in the UK!! Obviously a day where we don't have to go to work, means a day of wind and rainy weather!!!

Today is a Bank Holiday ~ today is wet and cold and grey and dismal ~ typical!!!!!!!!

We have ventured out as far as the DIY store to pick up a paint guide ~ so that I can start looking for a paint colour for the livingroom ~ well two colours actually, one darker for the feature wall and a lighter colour for the other walls!! There are so many colours and I think that I will have to buy some tester pots and paint small bits on the walls (like I usually do!!), so that I can see what they look like actually in the room!!! I am sure I will make a decision eventually.

I did manage to put up the curtains ~ and I like them much better than the old ones, they are more in style with how I want the room to look ~ after the painting has been done!!

I was very naughty last night and went on line and ordered some new furniture (nothing too extravagant!!) ~ I ordered a new TV/entertainment unit, 2 wood and rattan units for infront of the window (the sideboard that is there at the moment is much too big and has seen better days!!), and a unit for the DVDs to be stored in!! They should hopefully be here in 5 ~ 7 days all being well (this is not the same people that I ordered the bed from ~ so I pray for no lengthy delays this time!!!).

It has taken 3 years to change all the things that I brought from the old house ~ which was where I lived with my ex ~ so these last few changes are like a cleansing process ~ they are the last bits of the past ~ and it feels great to be getting rid of them ~ making it all new!! It is actually quite exciting tee hee!! (that and the fact that I love love love shopping ~ ha ha !!!!)

I am looking forward to this latest 'make over' ~ I am not sure when it will start ~ as soon as the new furniture is here and I decide on the paint I suppose ~ I will keep you updated on developments.

Anyway ~ must be off ~ I have an important appointment with a cup of coffee and a paint colour guide ~ oh my life is just so thrilling!!!! XXXX

Simply Wonderful!!

All the plans that I had for today..... you remember the new curtains ~ the steam cleaning of the sofa ~ the paint sample shopping.....WELL!!!

I did none of them ha ha ha !!!!

I did not put up the new curtains (although I have just got the ironing board out to start ironing them ~ then I MAY just put them up ~ if I can be bothered!!)

I did not steam clean the sofa ~ the steam cleaner is broken ~ and my neighbour is waiting for a new one ~ so I haven't managed to do it yet!!

I didn't go to the DIY store ~ it is a Bank Holiday weekend and so I am not working tomorrow ~ so we can go then and look for paint!!

So what did you do?? (I hear you ask!!)

I spent the whole day with my little stars!!

We didn't go for the walk ~ as the rain was awful (typical bank holiday!!),

We did craft together, we read books, we did puzzles, we watched DVD's (infact the kids are watching St Trinians on DVD at the moment and eating popcorn!

We have had a really wonderful day ~ doing nothing ~ just making our own free entertainment (the best kind!!) and do you know what, I have loved every last minute of it!!

Days like these do not happen all that often ~ there is always so much to do ~ places to go ~ schedules to keep to!! BUT ~ for today at least there was none of that ~ Just me and my little stars having a really fun time together!! XXX

Am I ever satisfied? Nope ~ don't think so!!!

I knew that it would happen ~ it is inevitable really!! I have painted the kitchen, the hall, the childrens bedroom and my bedroom ........... now I am thinking (it is only THINKING! at this point ) ~ about starting on the livingroom. I have lived here almost 3 years and I have got a bit fed up with the magnolia walls that I moved into ~ that is the joy of moving into a brand new place ~ all the walls were magnolia!!!!

I have decided that I would like to paint one of the walls as a feature wall ~ in a brown/chocolate colour maybe and then have the other walls in a cream or lighter shade of beige or something (I have no idea what ha ha !!!) ~ I really like the rug that I have in the livingroom ~ so thought that I would take the lead from that......................................

I really would like a chocolate brown leather sofa too ~ I am still saving for it ~ although all these other things keep cropping up that I spend the savings on instead ha ha !!!

My current sofa is a teracotta colour and I decided today that it needs a thorough steam clean!! My neighbour owns a cleaning company, so he is going to let me borrow his industrial steam cleaner so that I can clean it up ~ that will be a job for this wet and cold Bank Holiday weekend!

My poor ~ much sat on ~ sofa, in need of a very nice steam clean!!

These curtains are going tomorrow ~ I have always hated them ~ they were not my choice in the first place and when we moved here, they somehow came along with us and imposed themselves on the livingroom (ha ha !!). I have bought some new ones ~ and they are going to be put up tomorrow!!!!

Well, that is my plan for this weekend. I will be steam cleaning a sofa and putting up new curtains and then I will be visiting the DIY store to get some paint samples and have a look around. The livingroom is a much bigger room to paint than any of the other rooms that I have done and I will have to pick the right time to do it ~ so for now it will just be a change of curtains and a few other things!!

Today has been a fun day ~ we went to the library so that the children could take their books back and get their first three stickers for their team read they are taking part in. They have chosen another three new books and when they have read these ones, they will get their medal and certificate ~ so they are trying to read them as fast as they can ha ha !!

I have promised them that if the weather is nice tomorrow we will either go for a walk on the beach or in the woods ~ I suppose that even if it is not so nice, we could just wrap up and go anyway!!

I believe that the theme for the next Brendas photo challenge is 'things with wings' ~ so I will be taking my camera with me ~ and see whether there are any 'wings' about that I can photograph!! XXX

Clever Advertising!!!

Once upon a time I actually was very interested in a career in advertising!! I joined the Police Force instead!!!! And now I work as a Childminder!!

I still love looking at the quirky ideas that the advertisers come up with.......just like these!!

Back to school shopping bonanza!!

The shopping trip involved buying several of these for Lauren Several pairs of these ~ for Lauren also..........

And a few of these too......for lauren!! Dan needed a couple of pairs of these.......

and several of these!!! The children are not back at school for another few weeks yet, but I just wanted all their uniforms sorted out and done ~ last year I left it until the last minute and struggled to get it all!!

We had a bit of a uniform bonanza as all the shops (and supermarkets) seem to be trying to outdo each other by having the cheapest uniforms (no, I am not complaining!!), so I managed to get them twice the amount they needed ~ for no extra money!! I like to get them new uniform for the start of a new term ~ it is just something that I have always done. They have school fleeces and sweatshirts with the school logo on, which I had already bought from the school ~ so all that I need to get now is their shoes and they are done (shoes always work out expensive ~ so I have saved that joy for after payday!!!)

I had an enquiry today from a couple who would like me to childmind for their baby ~ so that is great ~ I have had a free space for a couple of months, so it is always good to fill them up again!!

Mind you ~ the way my children keep growing and needing new clothes (ha ha !!) ~ I think I already know where the extra money will be going!!!!!!

Just for laughs!!

I gave up jogging for health reasons ~ my thighs kept rubbing together and setting fire to my knickers!!!
I read an article that said that the typical symptoms of stress are eating too much ~ impulse buying and driving too fast!!

Are they kidding???

That's my idea of a perfect day!!!


The trouble with some woman is that they get all excited about nothing ~ and then they marry him!! Amazing ~ you hang something in the closet for a while and somehow it shrinks 2 sizes!!

A Friend of mine confused her Valium for her birth control pills ~ she has 14 kids ~ but she really doesn't care!!
One of lifes great mysteries is how a 2 pound box of chocolates can make a woman gain 5 pounds!!

My mind not only wanders ~ sometimes it leaves completely......... The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight!! Because by then, your body and your fat are really good friends!!

Sometimes I think I understand everything!! ~ And then I regain conciousness!!

Quick update!!

Much as I was totally dreading the weigh in tonight ~ I am pleased to announce that another 2 pounds has packed up and left (ha ha !!). I was anticipating having lost NOTHING ~ as I did not do the usual exercise last week and wasn't as strict ~ but I was pleasantly suprised!! I have been dieting for 14 weeks now and with the 2 pounds I lost this week ~ that is a total of 49 pounds ~ which is 3 and a half stone!! YIPPEEEE!!

I also got the BEFORE photos that were taken on the day that I started the diet (3 and a half stone ago ha ha !!) ~ OMFG!!! I may post them on here oneday ~ when I get to where I want to be ~ lets just say that I was quite shocked (to say they are not flattering would be an understatement tee hee!!). So, I am back to being extra ultra good this week ~ I would like that 4 stone mark as soon as possible!!

I also managed to finish Twilight last night ~ it was great ~ I have loved it from start to finish ~ I will be starting on the next one (can't remember which one that is tee hee!! ~ will have to check!!). I am now officially addicted to these books!

Well, I am off to bed now ~ there is nothing (and I mean NOTHING!! ) on the tv, so I thought that I might actually try and watch the other boleyn girl on DVD !!!

So much to do ~ so little time!!

I am back home ~ back to work ~ back to having 3million things that need doing and not enough time to get it all done!!

Yesterday was a day of getting things sorted out, unpacking the bags ~ washing, washing and a little bit more washing. I put all the washing on the line and promptly 10 minutes later it started to rain ~ so in it all came and on went the tumble dryer!!

There was so much mail sitting on the floor when we got home that it was a struggle to get in the front door and opening and sorting it all was a job in itself ~ it is all done now ~ all dealt with or filed!! I love getting mail ~ I like walking in the front door and seeing it on the mat and wondering what it is (usually a bill ~ but hey ~ it's still mail!!)...

We took the library books back yesterday and the children joined the Team Read project. It is basically to encourage children to go to the library and to read. When they join, they get a poster ~ which has an olympic theme ~ they have to read six books in total and come back to the library and fill out a part on the poster about what they liked about each book ~ then they get a sticker for each book they have read. When they have all 6 stickers, they get a certificate and a medal to say they have completed the Team Read. Dan and Lauren took out 3 books yesterday ~ which they have been sitting reading like good little students ha ha !! I will take them back on Saturday to get them changed and then they will have their first 3 stickers!! They have done this kind of thing at the Library in previous years ~ so they already have several certificates and medals.

I have nearly finished reading Twilight now ~ there are only about 10 pages left ~ it has taken me so long to read it ~ I just don't seem to get the time at the moment and I wanted to get it finished last night ~ so I could go on to the next one ~ but I was so tired that I couldn't do the last 10 pages ~ it will be finished tonight (even if I have to put match sticks in my eyes to keep them open ha ha ha !!). I am totally loving the Twilight series so far ~ thanks Kat for introducing me to them ~ I am addicted now!!

Lauren was being nasty to her Brother yesterday ~ they often have their little niggles with each other!! She wouldn't let him look at the book she was reading (and kept teasing Daniel about the pictures before hiding the book from him!!). Daniel got fed up in the end and told Lauren that she was being Selfish...............I nearly died laughing when she came shooting out of the bedroom shouting " Mummmmmmmm Daniel said i'm a shelfish!!!!" She nearly got it right I suppose!!

Well, I don't have alot planned for today. I am back to work ~ although I only have the little boy that I look after today ~ as the little girl is still on holiday!! The weather is awful and it is actually really grey and dark outside ~ even though it is now 9am!! We have lots of craft stuff ~ so that will probably be the project for today!!

Well ~ off to put the kettle on now ~ I feel the need for a morning cup of coffee!!
It is weigh in day tomorrow and I am dreading it ~ I have not had a bad week ~ but I haven't exactly stuck to the plan rigidly either ~ and my total exercise for last week was a big huge ZERO!! Oh well ~ I can only wait and see!! XXX

Shower like a woman......................................

How To Shower Like a Woman

Take off clothes and place them sectioned in laundry basket according to lights and darks.
Walk to bathroom wearing long dressing gown.
If you see husband along the way, cover up any exposed areas.
Look at your womanly physique in the mirror - make mental note to do more sit-ups/leg-lifts, etc.
Get in the shower.
Use face cloth, arm cloth, leg cloth, long loofah, wide loofah and pumice stone.
Wash your hair once with cucumber and sage shampoo with 43 added vitamins.
Wash your hair again to make sure it's clean.
Condition your hair with grapefruit mint conditioner.
Wash your face with crushed apricot facial scrub for 10 minutes until red.
Wash entire rest of body with ginger nut and jaffa cake body wash.
Rinse conditioner off hair.
Shave armpits and legs.
Turn off shower.
Squeegee off all wet surfaces in shower.
Spray mold spots with Tile cleaner.Get out of shower.
Dry with towel the size of a small country.
Wrap hair in super absorbent towel.
Return to bedroom wearing long dressing gown and towel on head.
If you see partner along the way, cover up any exposed areas.


How To Shower Like a Man

Take off clothes while sitting on the edge of the bed and leave them in a pile.
Walk naked to the bathroom.
If you see partner along the way, shake willy at her making the 'woo-woo' sound.
Look at your manly physique in the mirror.
Admire the size of your willy and scratch your bum.
Get in the shower.
Wash your face.
Wash your armpits.
Blow your nose in your hands and let the water rinse them off.
Fart and laugh at how loud it sounds in the shower.
Spend majority of time washing privates and surrounding area.
Wash your bum, leaving those coarse bum hairs stuck on the soap.
Wash your hair.
Make a Shampoo Mohican
Wee.
Rinse off and get out of shower.
Partially dry off.
Fail to notice water on floor because curtain was hanging out of bath the whole time.
Admire willy size in mirror again.
Leave shower curtain open, wet mat on floor, light and fan on.
Return to bedroom with towel around waist.
If you pass partner, pull off towel, shake willy at her and make the 'woo-woo' sound again.
Throw wet towel on bed.

WE ARE HOME !!

I love going away ~ I have had a wonderful time with my Mum and Step Dad and I was very sad to leave ~ as were the children!! But we are home now and it is actually nice to be back ~ there is just something nice about being back home with all your own things and I am looking forward to my own bed tonight!! All the motorways were running really smoothly and there were no exploding roof boxes (and I didn't see any pants this time either ha ha !!)

There was a huge pile of mail waiting when I got back ~ we had trouble getting in the front door (ha ha !!) ~ in amongst the pile was a little package ~ with a DVD in it ~ It is called 'The Other Boleyn Girl' and is one that I have wanted to see for a long while ~ I just love everything about that part of history ~ Henry VIII and all that!!! While I was away my sister gave me a 60 day free membership to LOVEFILM.COM ~ which is basically an online DVD rental shop!! Only there are no late fees and you can keep the DVD for as long as you like (I like the no late fee bit ~ as I am useless at returning things tee hee!!). When you return one DVD they send you another one from your wish list!! I think I am going to like this ~ my sister is a sweetie ha ha !! She loves it ~ as she likes getting the envelope and not knowing which DVD it is (we are both still kids at heart !!).

I have a new award on my side bar ~ which is from the lovely Donna over at Made in heaven and is called The Wylde Woman Award ~ it is awarded to men and women who brighten your day, teach you new things and live their lives fully with genrosity and joy!! Thank you very much Donna ~ my blog will wear it with pride and I will be sure to pass it on soon!!

Off we go again ~ back home!!

We have had a really wonderful week ~ with a few warm and sunny days!!

I will be sad to leave ~ sad to say goodbye ~ but we will be back again soon!!

We are away again on Friday ~ as it is a Bank Holiday Weekend here in the UK next weekend ~ so I am going to make the most of having another extra day off work!!

Ahead is a very long drive ~ hopefully it will be quiet ~ with it being a sunday ~ and hopefully we will not encounter any flying vanity cases this time (ha ha !!).

Just off to pack the car!

Then this is what I would have eaten today!!!!!

UNFORTUNATELY ~ there is a diet angel sitting on the other shoulder ~ so this was the reality.....

After 14 weeks (I think) and almost 3 and a bit stone lost ~ this is getting SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hard ~ oh well ~ never mind ~ only another 3 stone to go ~ ho hum!!!!
