On the way back from the school run this morning ~ I was driving along quite merrily in the car ~ I had no children with me and the sun was shining ~ the world was a happy place.....
All of a sudden a rather large spider decided to float down in front of me, right by my face....and then out of sight ~ I actually thought that I was going to crash the car!!! I had to pull in a layby and after alot of jumping about and rubbing down of my jacket ~ I looked in the car and couldn't see it , so I got back in and drove home....
I know that my fear of spiders (no matter what size!!), is totally irrational and all the way home I was trying to think happy thoughts of the nice spider Charlotte in my fav kids film Charlottes Web.....it worked temporarily.
I am now home, have checked my jacket, hair, clothes for the spider and it's not there ~ so I am having a cup of tea and thinking more happy thoughts ~ I am going to get the Charlottes Web DVD out in a minute and watch it .......
Anybody out there who shares my fear of spiders.....please let me know I am not alone (or insane!!!), if you aren't scared of spiders ~ what else makes you shake with fear?

I wouldn't be scared of a spider if I was armed with a can of insect spray. But, one dangling in front of my face, while driving, well that is well and truly another matter. I would freak out and become somewhat paranoid. I would constantly think that it was somewhere on me.
What a drive home for you. I hope the rest of your day was spider free, totally void of any creepy crawlies for that matter. You sure would have needed something to calm the nerves and I hope that cuppa did the trick.

I don't like spiders ~ no matter where they are!! BUT ~ this one really was brave just dangling there infront of me....I had to stop as I had this image of it climbing up me or appearing again by my face.
The rest of the drive home was ok and the tea helped (too early in the day for anything stronger ha ha!!!!).
I hoovered out the car today incase another one was hiding somewhere!!

I hate spiders too,in fact i hate all creepy crawlies. FULL STOP. You poor thing, i do hate the ones that disappear! That i can't cope with!

spiders don't really scare me; but a snake of any size, variety, etc... makes my skin crawl. thank you, GOD, there aren't many around here. and i don't like rodents either:C
so happy to hear you made it home in one piece:D

I don't like the idea of snakes either (goodness ~ makes me sound like I don't like anything ha ha!!).
I don't mind mice etc but not rats!!
