Lauren with her art work ~ she refused to smile ~
Lauren painted this for me ~ some sunshine as it is raining outside!!!
I have given up painting, cleaning and tidying for today, as the children have been moaning that they are bored and have nothing to do!!!
As usual, the Bank Holiday weekend has been wall to wall rain and we haven't done much at all (I do feel awful for the children that we have done so little, but this clear out desperately needed doing!!!). They are on school half term holiday this week anyway, so we have the whole week to do stuff!!!
I sat down and put on the TV and shock horror (another Bank Holiday tradition!!), The Sound Of Music is on (yippeeee!!!), so I am sat here glued to the screen. The children came in and moaned that they didn't want to watch it, but then DO RAY ME (or however you spell it ha ha), came on and now they are glued to it too lol!!!! We are having a family afternoon snuggled up on the sofa watching the sound of music ~ listening to the horrible rain outside!!
Lauren decided to do some painting earlier on (since I refused to let her hinder/help me!!). She did me some lovely paintings, but my favourite was of some sunshine, that she did just for me, as there was so much rain outside. She was still in a bad mood when I took the picture (still because I would not let her paint the bedroom!!), so she refused to smile. Last time I let her help, we ended up with more paint on the carpet than on the walls (tee hee!!).
I hope that we have some sunshine for the rest of the week, so that we can get out and about. I was hoping to do a treasure hunt in the garden and go for a picnic in the woods, both of which would be better without the rain. Better get back to the film, Lauren has just told me off for tapping while she is listening to it (and I thought I was the Mother!!!!).

tabitha,
yuck!!! it is pouring rain here as well. i know maggie had to go potty but we got as far as the front porch, she saw the rain, turned around and ran back up the front steps to the door.
the sound of music, however, always seems to make things seem brighter. lauren's artwork is a day brightener, too.
may the sun come out for the rest of your week:D
love,
dani xx
I'm sorry your Bank Holiday was so wet. It was sunny and warm here, some thing must be wrong as it's usually the other way around!
The painting is lovely and i hope Lauren is feeling happier soon.
Try and enjoy the rest of your day off.
Love Amanda xx
Hi Dani,
Sorry that you have rain too!!
Poor Maggie not wanting to get wet ~ I don't blame her.
We enjoyed the sound of music, the kids sat glued to the TV.
I haven't looked at the forecast for the rest of the week, but I hope for sunshine too.
Hope your holiday weekend was fantastic.
love and hugs~ Tabitha XX
Hi Amanda,
I know, what has happened to the weather again!
Lauren still hasn't cheered up, she is still in a bad mood with me for not letting her paint (ha ha).
I hope your weekend was just great.
love and hugs, Tabitha XX
I loved to finger paint when I was a kid, yet I never let my own daughter paint. WAY TOO MESSY! And I would NEVER let her help paint the walls in our house. That is just insanity.
I'm sorry it rained for your holiday. Pretty painted picture and pretty daughter too!
Have a good Tuesday - see you - Kellan
Hi Christy,
I suppose I am lucky, Lauren doesn't make much mess when she is painting (ha ha), and she loves it so much. She did help once painting the bedroom wall, and it did end up in a disaster!! (lesson learnt there!!).
love and hugs, Tabitha XX
Hi Kellan,
They holiday is over today and typically there is no rain!!
I really must put some of Laurens pretty paintings in a frame and put them in her room, she is always moaning that they are not on display lol.
love and hugs, Tabitha XX
Snuggled up watching the Sound of Music on a rainy public holiday sounds like bliss. Although, rain with kids at home for more than a day or two, is anything but bliss.
I hope that the sun starts shining for you soon. Lauren's painting would have brightened up your grey and gloomy day. She did a beautiful job with her creation.
Your plans for the week sound like so much fun. I love picnics and I think treasure hunts are so much fun. Let's hope that the rain holds off so it doesn't interefere with your plans.
Love and hugs to you my friend
Elise.
We've had our fair share of rain back here as well. A good thing that Lauren painted you some sunshine, not only must it have brightened your day, it probably also warmed your heart!
