I love my job, I love children and I love being a childminder.....there is just one part of my job that I really do not like and that is when I have to say goodbye to the children that I look after.
Most of the children that I have looked after over the years I have cared for from about 3 or 4 months old until they go to school at 4 or 5 years old!! As you can imagine ~ you do get very attached to them and they become like part of my family.
Today one of the children that I look after had her last day with me ~ she is moving away ~ and I will miss her very much.
I got a lovely bouquet of flowers and a bottle of perfume and two cute teddies and cards from her, to thank me for looking after her. The words in the card brought tears to my eyes and I wanted to share them with you ~ they said......
Has anyone ever told you what a wonderful person you are?
I hope so! I hope you've been told dozens of times....
because you are just amazing.
And just incase you haven't heard those words in a while,
I want you to hear them now,
You deserve to know that.........
It takes someone special to do what you do.
It takes someone rare and remarkable to make the lives
of everyone around them nicer, brighter, and more beautiful.
It takes someone who has a big heart and a caring soul.
It takes someone who's living proof of how precious
a person can be.
It takes someone.......just like you!

I am glad that she had a happy and fun time with me, over the years I looked after her and I will miss her such alot.
I have a break now, looking after just 2 children ~ until I start chilminding another baby in September.

Awww, thats sweet. Both a happy and sad part of your job. I mean it will be nice to see a child grow up and move onto another stage of their life, but sad to see them go at the same time.

Yes ~ it has happy and sad parts ~ I hate to say goodbye!!!
Send your boys down ~ the more the merrier (ha ha)!!
The perfume was Sunflowers ~ not one that I have used before, but it smells lovely!!!

What a beautiful way to say thank you to you for obviously doing an amazing job.
As a teacher, I sometimes felt the job was pretty thankless. However, those times were far and few between. I have many precious cards and gifts where students have expressed their gratitude. What a wonderful feeling it is to know that you are appreciated.
Those words inside that card say it all. What a gift you have been to that child and to think just how much you're loved by them is beautiful.
I am so happy to see that this family has taken the time to show their appreciation for all that you have done for them.

How sweet! People really take a leap of faith when they leave their babes with someone. You obviously make it very comfortable and easy for them. they will always remember you!

I love looking after the children so it is a case of doing what comes naturally.
I agree that parents take a leap of faith leaving their children with someone ~ who they don't know ~ but I always try and make sure they are happy and know their child is safe.
