A photo of our little rabbit Fudge, we will really miss him!!!
Today is a very sad day in our household, we had to have our little rabbit, Fudge, put to sleep.
We got fudge when Lauren was about a year old (I think he was about 2 years old then), so that would make him about 7 years old, which means he did well for a rabbit. He had been going down hill for a while with various things and it was decided that it was kinder to have him put to sleep, rather than to have him suffer ~ which I would just not have happen.
On a happier note, Lauren has gone on a day out to the Zoo with one of her school friends, and is staying over at her house on a sleepover tonight. It is the first time ever that she has been away from me overnight, since she was born!!! I didn't think that I would miss her this much, but I really do ~ although......the house is very quiet and there is no bickering (Lauren does wind up her brother quite alot ha ha!!!). I am going over to pick her up tomorrow morning and I will be so glad to have her back with us ~ I do miss my little girl very much.

Hi Tabitha
It's always such a tough decision to decide when it is the right time to say goodbye to a beloved pet. When a pet is suffering and there is little that can be done to ease that, then I guess the time has come.
Lauren sounds like she is going to have an awesome day - a trip to the zoo and then a sleepover. It doesn't get much better than that.
First sleepover, that's exciting. I wonder if you'll have one tired girl on your hands tomorrow?
Love and hugs
Elise
Thats so sad about Fudgie, you get so attached to pets, don't you?
It must be hard for the children as they have grown up with him. Children just bounce back though.
Hope Lauren enjoyed her sleepover. It's so quiet when the kids are not there, even if it is just the one that is away, but at least you and Daniel can have some quality time together.
Do you think you'll get another rabbit or another pet?
You did the right thing because who would want a poor animal to suffer.
On a brighter note, i hope you are having a nice day and that the sun is out:-D
Take Care,
Amanda xx
Hi Elise,
Thank you , you are right ~ it was such a hard decision to make, but it was the right one, he was with us such a long time and I just couldn't let him suffer.
Lauren is absolutely exhausted ~ she had a great time ~ she loved the zoo!!
I missed her so much ~ glad she's back!!

Hi Amanda,
It was a hard thing to do ~ as you said the children have grown up with him as their pet.
We have decided not to get another rabbit for the moment....but watch this space ha ha!!
Lauren enjoyed the sleepover and wants to go again ha ha!!
