Hurray for FRIDAY!!!!! AND for once I actually finished work early ~ which up to now has been unheard of!!!! Not wanting to let the opportunity pass me by ~ I decided to pop to the shops and have a little look round!! There is so much that I need to do before we go away next week and I have planned that for over the weekend, the children both need their hair cutting and I am at the hairdressers on Sunday (still not 100% sure whether to be brave and have the haircut from the magazine ~ or something very similar!!).
Today we all got a little treat (it is payday today ~ so why not!!). Daniel managed to burst his most favourite football last week while he was playing in the park ~ so he has been nagging me to get him one all week ~ but the opportunity hadn't arisen until today. We stood and we looked at the footballs ~ ranging from the very cheap to the not so cheap!! Daniel had his heart set on one towards the more expensive range ~ which is holographic and silver ~ and nothing else would do ~ so I let him have it. He has been so great recently ~ and never moans when Lauren gets yet another piece of dance clothing !! So I didn't mind one bit!!
He has been in the garden with it all afternoon and it is already covered in mud ~ a sign that it is being well used ha ha !!!!
Here is one very happy boy ~ with one silver holographic football under his arm!!!!
Lauren is at a Dance Summer School next week and needs at least 3 million dance items before then!! Luckily she has most of the required uniform from the classes that she already does!!
One thing she needed was new tap shoes ~ with toe and heel taps ~ her feet just keep on growing (wish they would slow down a bit!!).
Here are Laurens new tap shoes ~ which she has been practising in on the kitchen and bathroom floor (There are scuff marks to prove it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) ~ THANK GOD FOR EBAY!!!!! Dance sneakers ~ which I think will have to be surgically removed from Miss Laurens feet!!
I have tried making her take them off ~ and failed dismally (this photo was taken about 2 seconds before they went on her feet ~ not to be taken off since!!) Lauren still needs a pair of split sole Jazz shoes and a Kingfisher blue dance leotard ~ neither of which are that expensive and I have a 20% off voucher for the dance shop which I haven't used yet ~ which will come in handy!!
Now for a bit of Mummy retail therapy!! Yes ~ I am very boring indeed!! I went to my favourite place ~ Waterstones Bookshop and they were doing a 3 for 2 offer on most of the titles ~ so how can a girl resist (where books are concerned ~ they have replaced chocolate in my life ~ tee hee ~ I cannot get enough of them!!!!).
I treated myself to 3 new books ~ 2 by Anita Shreve ~ The Pilots Wife and Light On Snow and the other by Nora Roberts (who I have never read before) ~ called High Noon!!
I am going to be making another visit to the book store very soon to buy the books that Kat recommended on her blog a while ago ~ which are the Twilight series (I think!!) ~ by Stephenie Meyer ~ I didn't see them today while I was in there ~ but I have checked on line and the local store should stock them. I am looking forward to reading them ~ and from what Kat has said ~ they sound really good!!!
This week has been very tiring ~ with it being the first full week of the holidays ~ and there being so many children!! I am actually glad that it is over (not that anything majorly bad has happened!!). Next week lauren will be at Dance School from 11 am to 4 pm ~ so that means that I only have Dan and the 2 children that I look after ~ so it will be a bit more relaxed!!!
For now ~ I am going to put the kettle on ~ make a nice cup of coffee and start on one of the new books ~ XX

Hope you are having a great Friday

Very cool football!!! Samuel just got too... Roy says it's the one they used in the UEFA matches worth a few hundred dollars, we paid are you ready...... $20 so a definite bargain!!! I've never seen one like Daniel's, it's awesome, I take he's a big football fan? So Miss Lauren loves her new dance shoes????? she is just the sweetest!!!!

Oh I love to shop!! I want to read the twilight series too. I can't wait to find them and start.
Hi Tabitha
An early mark for you and a spot of retail therapy sounds like so much fun. I can see why Daniel had to have that ball, it looks awesome.
I should try your idea of using books to replace chocolate. I love books and chocolate and have a tendency to enjoy both at the same time! Although, I am on the hunt for a tasty low fat hot chocolate drink. Then I can indulge in a spot of reading and some low fat choc.
Tabitha, you are inspirational with your diet. You are doing so well. Congratulations on losing 45 pounds in 13 weeks, such a brilliant achievement.
The photo you took with all of the children running towards the pool is such a great summer photo. That picture captures the fun that everyone was having and the look of excited anticipation on everyone's faces as they run up to the pool.
I have struggled to find a hair cut that I like and finally I found a hairdresser that is excellent. For me, having a great hairdresser has been the key to getting a hair cut that I can manage and enjoy. Now I am happy with the style I have, although at the moment any style has grown out and I am well and truly due for another hair cut and colour. When my hair has been cut it is low maintenance which is what I need. I love the style that you have chosen. Do you think you will get your hair cut like that on Sunday?
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and get some time to read your new books.
Lots of love and hugs
Elise.
Glad Dan got the football that he wanted. Andrew has his eye on the Celtic Football, but it costs somtething like £15-£20! And it would just end up in the football cemetary at the bottom of the garden!!!
I wish i had a pair of those Tap shoes, i could have fun with them!
Go for the new hairstyle, you have lost all that weight, so a new style would be great for the new look.
I have just finished the Twilight series . They are great . The next one is coming out in a few days so i will have to order it. I order my books from Tesco.com as there is not any bookshops close to home.
Have a great weekend Tabitha,
L,
Amanda xx
Yeh for paydays. Isn't it great to treat yourselves every once in a while. I think us mums definitely deserve it and books what a relaxing idea.
Yes, LOVE retail therapy! Enjoy.
Hi Tanya ~ that football definitly sounds like a bargain!!
Daniel is a real football fan ~ he supports Portsmouth ~ who won the FA Cup this year ~ so he was just a bit pleased ha ha !!!!
Lauren loves dancing ~ she just seems to have a natural ability and I am happy for her to do it!!
She is sweet (most of the time tee hee!!!)
Hope you enjoyed the shopping!!
love and hugs XXXXXX
Hi Julie ~ I have been and bought them today ~ I think that I will start on them next ~ I have nearly finished the one that I am reading at the moment!!
love and hugs XXXXX
Hi Elise ~ so nice to see you again ~ I hope you are all doing ok and little Blake is much better!!
Daniel is a lad who knows what he likes ha ha !!! He got hold of that ball and his face was so sweet ~ how could I say no!!!
I have not eaten chocolate for 13 weeks now and it is amazing that when you don't have it ~ you just don't crave it !! The low fat hot chocolate that I have is a cadburys one and it is very nice (from what I can remember tee hee!!), I do not know if you would get it over there!! You would not believe how many books I have read recently ~ keeps my hand from going in the fridge!!
I am still undecided about the hair cut situation ~ I really would like it a bit shorter and in a more modern shape ~ but then on the other hand ~ I have been growing it for so long that I feel a bit bad having it cut!!
I will make sure to post a photo and let you know what I decided!!
love and hugs to all 4 of you XXXXXX
Hi Amanda ~ I know what you mean about the football cemetary ~ Daniel seems capable of popping them time after time ~ I suppose that is boys for you!!
I think that I will have to go with the flow tomorrow and see what happens ~ where the hair cut is concerned. I am still undecided ~ but I would like it shorter and if I don't like it, I can always grow it again I suppose (I am sooooo bad at making decisions ~ luckily my hairdresser is wonderful and will tell me straight away what she thinks!!).
I have been and treated myself to the Twilight books ~ the other one comes out tomorrow I think!!
I cannot believe that you do not have a book shop close by ~ I spend so much time in our local one ~ I think they know my name (ha ha !!).
Hope your weekend is going well
love and hugs to you XXXXXXXX
Hi Kristen ~ I totally agree ~ I don't often treat myself ~ but I do love books and with dieting ~ they have been a way to keep my mind on something other than chocolate ha ha !!!
love and hugs XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Hi Kareer woman ~ I agree ~ retail therapy is wonderful !!!
love and hugs XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
My son would have gone for that ball too. There's no doubt in my mind! Good choice Daniel!

Tania
