My prayers have at last been answered and we have now had 2 decent days of sunshine ~ today actually being sooooo hot that we had to bring all the children in this afternoon as they were all wilting a bit in the heat!! (See ~ I am never happy ha ha ~ when it rains I moan and when it is hot I moan tee hee hee!!!!!)
Tomorrow and Thursday are also meant to be gorgeous ~ with a storm breaking on Friday ~ aparently due to the heat (great!!). As it is the childrens last day at school tomorrow, they have been busy wrapping their gifts for their teachers and writing cards for them too ~ as they will both be moving up a year and onto a new class teacher. They had their school reports yesterday which were both excellent, I am very proud of them both ~ they are doing well and most importantly of all, they are both happy!!!
I spent today at my friend Junes house. June is also a childminder and I have known her for about 10 years now ~ we get together with the children that we care for ~ probably most days and especially during the summer holidays when we could have 10 children between us (yes we are insane!!!). As the weather is looking good for most of the week ~ we went and bought some new garden toys and pumped up the swimming pool and filled it with water ~ ready for a swim tomorrow!!
This is a skipping game ~ 2 people hold the ropes and 2 people skip (June and I had a go ~ but we laughed so much we nearly had an accident ~ if you get my drift!!!)
The pool all pumped up and ready to be filled with water ~ the pumping up part took AGES ~ as we couldn't find the electric pump, so we had to do it with the manual one!!!!!
Filling up nicely ~ while we have a little rest ~ pumping up pools is tiring work!!!
A football game for the boys ~ we had a go on this too (ha ha ) ~ I preffered the skipping!!!! These are Junes Guineapigs ~ since our rabbit died, we have adopted the white one (she lives at Junes though!!) ~ and her name is Pearl. The other 2 are called Candy and Tamba!!
Daniel and Lauren are looking forward to it being their last day of term tomorrow ~ but they are a bit sad aswell, that they will be leaving their teachers and moving on!! I will be glad of 6 weeks with no school runs ~ no racing to be out of the house at 8.30am on the dot ~ no school uniform and no packed lunches to make!! Instead the children can lie in a bit and we don't have to rush around (much!!) ~ so things can be a bit more relaxed!!
Lauren has her dress rehearsal on Friday and then her show is over the weekend ~ she gets more excited by the day!! She goes to her dance summer school from 4th ~ 7th August and then after that we are hoping to get away for a break to my Mums for 10 days or so. I really really need a break ~ just from everything ~ and my Mum lives in a beautiful place ~ close to the sea, with lovely countryside and plenty to keep the children occupied!!!! So that will be a nice break ~ before I return to work and all the madness again!!!!

It's supposed to be really hot on Thursday, but guess who is working???!
Hospitals are not nice to work in when it gets hot outside!
Hope you have fun with all the kids!

Amanda xx

Hi Amanda ~ it is so nice to have some more sunshine!! I am sorry that you are working on Thursday ~ hopefully you will still get out in the sun for a while!!!
I can imagine that hospitals are not the nicest places in the heat!!
Take care ~ will be thinking of you Thursday ~ you nurses deserve at gold medal for what you do!!

Hi dani ~ the kids are ready for the holidays now, they are looking forward to days out and just being at home with their mummy ha ha!!
I will take my laptop with me on holiday, so that I can blog a bit while I am away ~ hopefully it will work but if not I can use my Mums!! I had no idea what a sophomore was ~ the only bit I know about schools in America is what is in HSM ha ha ha !!!
In this country the children start in infant school at 4 or 5 years old, depending when their birthday falls, they start in Year R and then move to years 1 and 2 ~ then they move to the Junior school side, which is Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 When they are 11 they move up to Senior school ~ year 7 and leave when they get to Year 11 (I think!!). I am having a lazy evening ~ doing nothing ha ha !!
love and hugs to you ~ XXXXXX
Hi kareer woman ~ hopefully this is the start of some summer sunshine ~ we could do with some after all the rain!! XXXX
Hi Tabitha! I thought I would stop by to say hello. You deserve an award for pumping up that pool by yourself. I love the pics on your site.
I'd send you a little of this sunshine we're having if I could. It's rained north of us, south of us, east of us, and west of us. Not a drop here. I'm beginning to think that someone around here isn't living right,,,may need to have a talk with hubby about that.
aweh, I love the rabbits, Tabitha :D
We head back to school from summer break in less than two weeks now..
I hope you have fun when you go to your mom's!

Hi Tabitha,
Whew!!! It sounds hot in your part of the world. That swimming pool will be a welcome relief to the children. Did you say you look after ten children between you and your friend June? You are one patient lady. I am so glad that you will have your two beautiful children Lauren and Daniel home with you. Congratulations to them both on the good work and excellent school reports. Thank you for taking us all along to your Mum’s place. I for one will be looking forward to viewing all your pictures from this holiday.
Love and hugs to you all.

Tabitha, it's amazing how the education system is so different from England and Scotland!
I have just read your comment. We have primarys. At 4 or 5yrs the children start primary 1. The primary school goes up to primary 7. We call high school secondary school. The 11 - 12 year olds start in 1st year, and scondary school goes up to 6th year.
My kids are due back at school in two weeks! And yours are just stopping!!
You would think the school system could be more uniform!
Tabitha I'm so glad you've had beautiful weather!! Your Mum's place sounds beautiful!! Awesome job on getting that pool up!!!! Enjoy your holidays with the kids wish mine were finishing the school year... two more terms to go!!
Take care,
love,
Tanya xxxx
Congratulations to both Daniel and Lauren on their report cards!! A proud mom is a very happy mom, so I'm guessing you guys will be in for a great summer!!! Keep up the good work!
I would NOT be able to pump up that pool, not in a day anyway. Could use the exercise though :) But since we have neither the room to put our (small) pool - kitchen extension has transformed our back yard into a slightly hazardous worksite - nor the weather (not a single patch of blue sky to be seen, but hey, at least it's not raining), I guess I won't have to do any pumping.
Love,
Tania
