Look what came in the post yesterday!!!
A fantastic cookbook from my dear friend Donna over at Made in Heaven ~ Thank you so so much Donna ~ I totally love it!!!!!!!!
It is really wonderful, as it is full of recipes and ideas to get the children to eat hidden little wonders ~ like vegetables (ha ha !!). This is not actually a problem for Lauren ~ she will eat almost EVERY vegetable that I put infront of her ~ BUT ~ Daniel will not eat any veg.....apart from carrots!!!!
We sat tonight and had a look through and here are some ideas that the children both seemed to like.........
I don't think that they noticed all the little extras that are hidden inside (tee hee!!).
The children are off school now until next Wednesday. They have tomorrow off and next Tuesday and Monday is a Bank Holiday (YIPPEEEE!!) ~ so no school for them for the next 5 days!!!! (Someone get me the valium now!!!!!!!)......
We are hopefully going to have some nice weather ~ as it has been a bit mixed here just lately ~ one day it is glorious bright sunshine and then like today ~ it spends ALL DAY raining!!
Mind you ~ knowing almost Every Bank Holiday I can ever remember ~ IT WILL RAIN ha ha !!!
I have quite a bit of money in my 'NEST EGG' (some of you may remember my little savings egg!!) ~ I counted up the other day and it currently has £52 in it ~ which I am amazed and suprised at ~ all I have been doing is putting odd bits of change in it here and there ~ although I did go mad one week and put lots of pound coins in!! SO ~ I am going to make this weekend a bit special for the children and treat them to a day out ~ no idea where yet ~ or what we will do ~ and of course it does depend on the weather ~ if all else fails ~ there is always the cinema and the Pizza Hut after (they love Pizza Hut!!).
Laurens tooth is still pushing its way through and causing havoc as it does!! She was up again last night complainng that it hurts! I suppose that when you think that she knocked the other one out about 5 years ago and the gum has obviously hardened over the years ~ it is no suprise really that it is hurting a bit !!!
Well, best head off to bed ~ busy day (and lots of children to look after) tomorrow!

oo that cook book looks like so much fun!! Sammy loves his veggies but I have a feeling that will probably change some day :-)

I'm so proud of you on creating and adding to your nest egg. One is always more secure with a litle emergency fund saved up!
It's terrific that they have cookbooks like that now. Every mom should have it, for I know it would have made a huge difference if mine did :P

It's too bad that I can't sneak vegetables into my meals like that. If I could just figure out a way to not let myself know.
Chocolate Chip Cookies with chickpeas? Let me know how that one goes Tabitha and we might use that reciepe here. Poor Lauren. One would think that growing teeth and being kept up at night would only happen when you are younger. Hope it gets better from now on. I hope Lauren, Daniel and you have a great time and enjoy spending some of your nest egg savings.

That was really sweet. I had that book for about a day & took it back.. I am just not that intense of a cook... I can't do all that!
I've got this one. I am ashamed to say it was bought with good intentions but hasn't yet been tested.
Maybe now is the time to dust it off and have a go.
