Today has been a little bit mad ~ to say the least!
We woke this morning to freezing temperatures and snow ~ on top of ice ~ making conditions a bit hazardous! The school was closed ~ so the children had a great time ~ just playing outside, messing about and generally just having fun.
By the time we took the photos below ~ the snow was starting to melt and the temperature was a bit warmer!!
However ~ later this afternoon the snow came back and it was colder ~ and basically it has been snowing ever since ~ meaning that we now have quite a bit of snow again!
There is no school again tomorrow ~ not sure about Wednesday yet.
Our little village was quite a dangerous place today ~ my friends son managed to write his car off ~ not far from my friends house in the village ~ he hit ice while going round a bend, managed to avoid a parked car ~ hit a lampost and a kerb ~ mounted the kerb and hit a wall!!
Thankfully he was ok ~ but the car will not live to see another day!!
It seems that most of our part of the country has been affected ~ and we have been told that tomorrow we should only travel if it is essential! Hopefully by the end of the week we should be a bit warmer.
I am off to bed now ~ another early night ~ having my two children home today ~ aswell as the 3 I look after has been slightly tiring ha ha !! XXX

Tabitha, The situation there does not sound much better today. Take care on the roads if you must go out. I am sorry to hear about your friend's son having the accident. Thank goodness he is ok. I heard on the news tonight that air travel has also been canceled to and from London. Who would have ever thought that a major city like London would have to practically closed down.
Take care, keep warm, love and warm hugs. XXXXOOOO
I'm so sorry to hear about the accident, but glad nobody was hurt.
The snow can be lots of fun since we hardly get any. Ours was all washed away this morning ~ but apparently more is on the way, we will just have to wait, hope and see!!!
Hope the schools are back soon for you all.
Love,
Amanda x
Hi Tabitha~
It looks like the kids had a great time!! I was wondering whether you still had to take care of the other kids if the schools were closed. You had a full house no wonder you're tired. That's an understatement. :)
Sorry to hear about your friend's son's car although I'm glad he's ok.
I hope things warm up for you soon.
Much love from NJ,
Sue

You are a busy mommy, your own two, plus three:) It looks like they had fun in the snow/ice. we got that here as well! It is fun for a day or two, but then I am just ready to get out of the house!

Sounds like you have had enough of it all Tabitha! - Although the snow is nice and pretty to look at and providing you don't have to go out in it...but it does cause inconvenience as you well know.
I just wish the relevent county councils would just shut the schools rather than us having to wait until we are told - it causes havoc for the likes of people such as yourself.
Oh well, I suppose all the white stuff will be a distant memory in another month (it better be!).
Keep warm, keep calm
