I will look back on 2008 with fondness ~ all in all it was not a bad year at all. There were alot of changes ~ I think that 2008 was the year that I finally took control of my life again ~ after the break up of my marriage and my divorce ~ moving house and basically starting a fresh! There were times when I thought that I would never get through it all..........but I did ~ and 2008 was definitly a defining year.
I look forward to 2009 with hope and enthusiasm ~ I get the feeling it will be another good year ~ but a year filled with changes ~ it will be the year that Daniel leaves his primary school and moves up to secondary school (or 'big school' as he calls it!!). I have not made any new years resolutions ~ I usually make a whole list and never actually keep any of them ~ so this year I am just going to follow this advice to myself .......Be happy, be who you are ~ be true to yourself and remember that 'ANYTHING' is possible with just a bit of hard work and determination!!
Well, my blogging friends ~ we are spending New Year quietly at home this year ~ and from the temperature outside I think that is probably the best idea (it is totally freezing here!!)
What are you all up to for New Year ~ I would love to know ~ and please let me know what resoultions you have made ~ hopefully you are all alot better at sticking to them than I am

The only resolution that I actually kept in 2008 was to lose weight ~ so that was ok I suppose!!
I was very naughty and bought 4 new tops from Next, 2 new bra and knicker sets from La Senza ~ aswell as a new bath robe. I also bought a hat and a handbag and some earrings and bits and pieces from accesorize and a 2009 diary and pen!! I haven't taken photos ~ the camera keeps dying on me!!

I have spent a lot more on after Christmas sales than I would care to admit. It's just so darn hard not to with all the signs screaming 60% off and take an extra 15% if you use your card.

I don't usually make actual resolutions either. I just stick with the things I always work on anyway: try to be a better person, try to lose some weight, and try to live a more healthy lifestyle. Sounds to me like we both have a pretty good handle on it already.

Happy New Year Tabitha :) I agree about being happy & about being who you are & staying true to yourself!! We spent New Year's Eve in Surfers Paradise... on the beach... it was soooo hot here.. even at midnight it was still quite warm! I have not made any resolutions this year, although losing weight is on the agenda it's not because it's a resolution, because i NEED to lose weight! Wishing you, Daniel & Miss Lauren all the very best in 2009! Gorgeous pic of you guys & glad you had fun shopping, you deserve it :D

hey, tabitha:) i'm just now catching up with you, whew... it's been a little crazy around here. as you know, kat's been sick; and we have only had two days out of the last 14 without company:/
anyway, we actually didn't do anything for nye. katherine had hannah and the peasants over, and, other than that, it was a pretty quiet night just john, maggie, me, and a little bit of dick clark's rockin' nye on the telly.
as far as resolutions go... hmmm, i have decided that i just need some overall renewal (nothing really specific). i have found that the non-specified is better to obtain, HA!!!
