TWINKLE TWINKLE

If I could give you the stars, I'd gather them inside my heart,
I'd wrap them in love and brighten your day with starlight ..

Lazy, Lazy, Lazy!!

I have been a very lazy 'blogging' person and haven't posted the photos of Dan when he was a baby or all the other exciting (well I think so.....), things that I wanted to write about.......Instead I have been sitting in the sun reading my book and being a right lazy woman!!!!

The weekend has been wonderful, wall to wall sunshine (I am starting to think that I keep waking up in the wrong country ~ this cannot be England in May!!! ~ ). Lauren is practising for a show at her tap and ballet classes, and it will be put on for paying customers (by the dance school), at the end of July. She is very excited and goes through the dances at every possible available moment (including yesterday in the supermarket!!!). Saturday afternoon we spent wandering around a shopping outlet village ~ and the children got to spend their hard earned pocket money (Lauren on a HSM wig!!?? and Dan on a water pistol!!).

Yesterday we went for yet another walk in the woods, so that Jane and I could do a bit more for our fitness regime. We walked the same route as last weekend, which is about 4 miles, only this weekend it was alot hotter and by the end we were almost falling over with exhaustion!!!
Luckily as we came to the end of the walk we spotted the ice cream van and that made us walk faster!!

We then went for a BBQ at Janes and the children had a water fight in the garden (somehow I managed to get wet too!!). Unfortunately we were having so much fun that we completely forgot about the sausages and they ended up very black!!!

All in all another great weekend! Back to the routine of the school runs this morning and my childminding children arrive at 10.30am today, so I have about half an hour of peace before the madness starts (I love it really!!!).

High School Musical

WOW!!!!!!! What a great night!!! I am now a true High School Musical fan (ha ha ~ never thought I would say that!!).
We saw the stage show of high school musical that is touring the country at the moment and it was absolutely fantastic ~ I loved every minute (but not as much as Lauren loved it!!).
I have seen bits and pieces of the 2 films, while lauren has been watching them for the 300000th time!! but have never really watched it all the way through ~ so last night was a nice suprise (I actually really really loved it!! ~ yes I am 37 but that makes no difference ~ ha ha!!).

The cast were fantastic and although I think that Zac Effron is a real cutie (Yes, I am old enough to be his mother ~ probably!!), the chap that played Troy was actually really good ~ although Lauren is still firmly a lover of zac and has a T Shirt that says so!!!!

We were not allowed to take any photos in the theatre, so I don't have any of the actual show, just a few of the children just before we were leaving.

Next we have a 'Ladies' night out planned ~ to see a show, have a meal and maybe a glass of wine or ten oops sorry I meant two!!! We haven't decided when or what we will see ~ but I am looking forward to it anyway!!!

More fun ~ in the sun!!

This sunshine is fantastic and I wish it would go on and on!! (Something tells me, that this being England ~ that will NOT happen!!!).

Anyway, while the sun is here, we have been making the most of it!!
Today we were out in the garden again, almost all afternoon...plenty of sun cream for everyone!!

Lauren went in the pool with her friend and the little ones had their own little pool in the shade ~ lots of fun was had by all!! My friend (and fellow childminder) ~ June and I sat watching the children and making sure everyone was safe ~ with 2 pools to watch and 5 children in total, we were very busy all afternoon (no putting my feet up today ~ told you it was a one off).

Daniel is due back from his day trip and then we have to rush and get ready for our night out watching High School Musical, we are all excited (especially Lauren).

No doubt I will be back later with an update ~ and some photos!!

Sunny Day!!

Me putting my feet up!!! Sunny blue skies!!!

I wasn't working today ~ so after a bit of retail therapy this morning ~ I sat in the garden and put my feet up.....something that doesn't happen very often!!!! Please excuse the photo of my rather unattractive feet (ha ha!!). The sun was shining and it was lovely and peaceful (my 2 were at school!!) ~ so I sat reading my book and sipping cocktails.......no that is just fantasy ~ I sat reading my book and sipping a diet coke (hasn't got quite the same exotic ring to it!!!).
I got so relaxed that I completely lost track of time and had to rush to get to the school on time. Typically they were late coming out ~ so no harm done.
Tomorrow Lauren has a day off school as it is closed for the day and Daniel is on an adventure day, where he will be doing rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing and archery ~ he is very excited and has packed his rucksack (I think he's got enough there for a week!!!). Tomorrow night we are going to the Mayflower Theatre to see a production of High School Musical ~ more excitement ~ for Lauren this time. She has her HSM cheerleaders outfit ready ~ with pom poms! I feel sorry for who ever sits next to us!! Ha Ha!!

Flowers, teddies and another goodbye!!!

I love my job, I love children and I love being a childminder.....there is just one part of my job that I really do not like and that is when I have to say goodbye to the children that I look after.
Most of the children that I have looked after over the years I have cared for from about 3 or 4 months old until they go to school at 4 or 5 years old!! As you can imagine ~ you do get very attached to them and they become like part of my family.

Today one of the children that I look after had her last day with me ~ she is moving away ~ and I will miss her very much.

I got a lovely bouquet of flowers and a bottle of perfume and two cute teddies and cards from her, to thank me for looking after her. The words in the card brought tears to my eyes and I wanted to share them with you ~ they said......

Has anyone ever told you what a wonderful person you are?
I hope so! I hope you've been told dozens of times....
because you are just amazing.
And just incase you haven't heard those words in a while,
I want you to hear them now,
You deserve to know that.........

It takes someone special to do what you do.
It takes someone rare and remarkable to make the lives
of everyone around them nicer, brighter, and more beautiful.
It takes someone who has a big heart and a caring soul.
It takes someone who's living proof of how precious
a person can be.

It takes someone.......just like you!
Thank you for being so wonderful!

I was really touched by the lovely gifts and their kind words.

I am glad that she had a happy and fun time with me, over the years I looked after her and I will miss her such alot.

I have a break now, looking after just 2 children ~ until I start chilminding another baby in September.
