This photo was taken of my Dad a few short months before he died. He worked on tanks when he was in the Army and while he was in remission from Cancer ~ he helped to restore this tank ~ which he affectionately called 'Esmerelda'. Unfortunately ~ the cancer returned and took my fathers life when he was only 45 years old. There is not a day goes by when he is not thought about, talked about and missed by us all. There will forever be a DAD sized hole in my life ~ which can never be filled and an ache in my heart that will never leave.

That picture is AMAZING. Having lost my own father (he was 51) I can totally relate and feel the emotion in this post. You are a lovely daughter to always remember his special day. Happy Birthday, sir!!

That's sweet. I miss my dad too. I had two - one who was a parent, one who wasn't.

What a nice tribute to your dad. Dad's are an important part of our lives. My dad died at age 80 on Oct 23, 1999 after 10 months of cancer battle.
