What we did today!

We are two days into the half term holidays and today the weather has turned very cold ~ infact it is absolutely freezing and the wind is biting !!

This said ~ for some reason the children decided that they would like to brave the cold and go to the beach to collect stones and shells.

The photos are not great ~ the wind was blowing and my hands were freezing cold ~ we didn't stay long, but the kids had a great time and managed to collect lots of beachy items.

Here is my little girl ~ happily collecting shells to make a beach collage tomorrow.

My little lad was off in a world of his own ~ wandering along and skimming stones into the water!

Dan and Lauren (and the little girl I look after) stopping to pose for a picture or two......
Before the wind got really really cold and blew even harder!!
When we had warmed up a bit ~ we decided to make some halloween treats ~ here are the witches hats that we made ~ the kids loved them!!

They are icecream cones filled with melted marshmallows and rice crispies, then a chocolate biscuit is placed under the cone and the heat of the marshmallow mixture melts the chocolate so the biscuit sticks onto the bottom. Then the cone is dipped in chocolate and then sprinkled with hundreds and thousands!! and there you have it ~ WITCHES HATS!!!!!!!
My children loved them as a treat and if you have kids ~ give them a go ~ they are easy to make and we will be doing more of them for the halloween party on Friday!!!
So, there you have it ~that is a little bit of what we have been up to today!! I think that we will stay inside tomorrow as the weather is apparently going to get even colder ~ so maybe we will have a movie day tomorrow with some pop corn!! XXXXX

Hi dear Tabitha

I am so happy that I have been able to sit down and catch up with you (so to speak, via your blog). I used to blog when Sav and Blake went to bed, but it seems as though my bedtime has moved forward a couple of hours to when they go to bed. Not the best for having any time for myself, but that's what happens when you are feeding around the clock and on the go ALL day. I remember when I had Sav, I was going to bed really early for a good five or six months. I have not forgotten my blog friends at all, actually I think of you often throughout my days.

Your time at the beach sounded like it was absolutley freezing, although it looks as though Dan and Lauren still had a good time. The witches hats you made sound like the perfect way to warm up. They are adorable, I have a copy of your instructions for this and will make them with Sav. They are so clever and I like the fact that they sound easy enough, even for me.

The email about the public toilets made me laugh so hard. It was hilarious. I also adopt "the stance" . How funny.

The photo you included of your dad is such a special photo, so I felt very honoured to see it. It is beautfiul that you speak about him often, so that Dan and Lauren can know their Grandad and his spirit and memory lives on. I saw in a magazine, a story where a mum had made up a box filled with memories of her dad (her children's Grandad). I think she included pictures of things he liked to do, recipes of foods he liked to eat etc. The children got to pick out a card and then they went and did the activity and learnt more about their Grandad. I thought it was a beautiful way of keeping his memory alive. Tabitha, if you are at all interested in this article I would love to send it you.

Tabitha, the photos of you at the Christening are awesome. You look absolutely amazing. Of course Dan looks so handsome and Lauren looks beautiful as well, but you my friend look HOT.

The photo of Lauren in her red jacket and black pants make her look all grown up.

I must go, Blake is stirring.

Lots of love and hugs
Elise
