HELP!!!! ~ THE CARROTS HAVE GONE MAD!!

I have a confession to make!! I have neglected the carrots!! YES ~ I am a bad person ~ but in all the bustle of the last week ~ I completely forgot to thin them out (as was suggested to me by several people!!). The rain hasn't helped either ~ and has obviously helped them to grow into monsters!!!

This is what they look like this morning!!


It is still raining and I don't fancy getting wet ~ so as soon as there is a break in the weather ~ I will be out there ~ thinning them out ~ not that I am actually sure how to 'thin them out' ~ My intention was to just remove a few and hope for the best!!

I REALLY LOVE BEING A MUMMY!!

I do honestly, really, totally and completely love being a Mummy!!

I love my children, totally, completely, unconditionally!!

I love that when I walk into the room and say "Come on you two, dinner is ready ~ time to tidy up!!" AND then go back in the kitchen AND THEN ~ walk back in 5 minutes later ~ they have done just as their sweet mother has asked them...................


OR MAYBE NOT!!!!!!!!!!! TEE HEE!!

NEVER MIND ~ I STILL LOVE BEING A MUMMY ~ EVEN IF NO~ONE EVER LISTENS TO ME xxxxx

Haircuts and collages!!

Yesterday was a bit of a mad day ~ nothing seemed to go as planned and I had so much to do that I just didn't get a chance to post on the blog!!

I managed to make it to the hairdressers on time and took my magazine page with me (ha ha ). I told my hairdresser that I wanted it shorter ~ sort of like the photo ~ without the fringe bit and it had to be easy to do ~ I decided that I would not be able to cope with hours of styling each morning!!!!

The hairdresser did a great job and I was really pleased ~ it is shorter ~ not quite like the picture I had ~ as the hairdresser did explain that having it cut into alot of layers would make the styling harder!!! It was very easy to do this morning also!! The photos do not really do it any justice ~ as just as I left the hairdressers there was a down pour and then it got blown about by the wind!!!


I like it and I am pleased that I didn't have lots of layers cut in ~ I have this natural kink to my hair and spend each morning straightening it ~ it is better without lots of layers ~ although it has been shaped slightly at the back!! The photos aren't great I am afraid ~ the rain flattened it bit and then Lauren decided that she would take the photos for me ~ which is always interesting ha ha !!!!!!

While I was at the hairdressers Daniel and Lauren went to one of my friends houses!
Lauren made the pictures for me (above), with her new collage set. She loves doing craft and collage and I think that they are just perfect!!

Lauren spent today at her dance summer school ~ as far as I can gather from her ~ she is doing a dance to the song 'Mamma Mia' and she is doing a singing and drama song to the song from Annie 'Hard knock life' ~ which I have been hearing all evening (she has been singing it since I picked her up at 4pm!!!!!). There will be a little show put on later in the week for the parents and friends!!
Today has been cold, wet and windy again and I have come to the conclusion that summer must be coming to an end (typical British weather!!!). The shops have already started to stock the Autumn lines and this morning a Christmas catalogue came through the letter box....... yes I said CHRISTMAS!!!!! Never mind ~ we are going away this week and sun or no sun ~ we will have a fantastic time!! XXX

I wish it was the weekend ~ every day!!!

Little Miss Sunshine in her dance leotard and Jazz shoes ~ she has spent the whole afternoon making up dances and prancing about ~ all ready for the summer school next week!! She is very excited about the whole thing and is pleased that she has all the things that she needs now!! AND her Mummy is very pleased that it did not end up being tooooo expensive!!!!!!!

I love the weekends ~ especially as at the moment there is no dance class and no judo ~ so I don't have to get up at silly~o'clock!! I don't have to rush about and we can just relax and do what we like!!

Getting Dan's hair cut was the order of the day today!! His hair grows so fast (wish mine did!!) and when it gets past a certain length it seems to have a mind of its own!!
We went to the barbers first thing and didn't even have to wait ~ we got straight in and Dan told the man how he would like it and that was that!!

Dan is very pleased with his new look and I bought him some 'fudge gel' so that he can spike it up at home......he has soooo much gel on it at the moment that he will need to wash it 20 times to get it all out ~ Bless him!!

I think that he actually looks alot more grown up with the new cut!! I seem to blink my eye and he has grown yet again ~ how I wish I could freeze time !!!

Unfortunately ~ my sweet, lovely little daughter DID NOT want to get her hair cut ~ so we did not achieve that today!! She only needs the ends trimming ~ so she did me a favour really ~ as it would be a waste of money just for an end trim!! One of Laurens friends has a mum who is a hairdresser ~ so I thought I might ask her to just snip the ends ~ Lauren would be more than happy with that!!!

I am off to the hairdressers tomorrow ~ still not totally sure what I will have done ~ but the magazine page is coming with me and we will see what happens!! I am sat watching Bridget Jones Diary at the moment......I totally love this film and although I have seen it about 50 times ~ I could just watch it again and again!!! Will be back tomorrow ~ hopefully with a new haircut and hopefully one of my children will be able to take a decent photo this time ~ so I can let you all see!! XXX

A SPOT OF RETAIL THERAPY!!

Hurray for FRIDAY!!!!! AND for once I actually finished work early ~ which up to now has been unheard of!!!! Not wanting to let the opportunity pass me by ~ I decided to pop to the shops and have a little look round!! There is so much that I need to do before we go away next week and I have planned that for over the weekend, the children both need their hair cutting and I am at the hairdressers on Sunday (still not 100% sure whether to be brave and have the haircut from the magazine ~ or something very similar!!).

Today we all got a little treat (it is payday today ~ so why not!!). Daniel managed to burst his most favourite football last week while he was playing in the park ~ so he has been nagging me to get him one all week ~ but the opportunity hadn't arisen until today. We stood and we looked at the footballs ~ ranging from the very cheap to the not so cheap!! Daniel had his heart set on one towards the more expensive range ~ which is holographic and silver ~ and nothing else would do ~ so I let him have it. He has been so great recently ~ and never moans when Lauren gets yet another piece of dance clothing !! So I didn't mind one bit!!
He has been in the garden with it all afternoon and it is already covered in mud ~ a sign that it is being well used ha ha !!!!

Lauren is at a Dance Summer School next week and needs at least 3 million dance items before then!! Luckily she has most of the required uniform from the classes that she already does!!

One thing she needed was new tap shoes ~ with toe and heel taps ~ her feet just keep on growing (wish they would slow down a bit!!).

Here are Laurens new tap shoes ~ which she has been practising in on the kitchen and bathroom floor (There are scuff marks to prove it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) ~ THANK GOD FOR EBAY!!!!!

Dance sneakers ~ which I think will have to be surgically removed from Miss Laurens feet!!
I have tried making her take them off ~ and failed dismally (this photo was taken about 2 seconds before they went on her feet ~ not to be taken off since!!) Lauren still needs a pair of split sole Jazz shoes and a Kingfisher blue dance leotard ~ neither of which are that expensive and I have a 20% off voucher for the dance shop which I haven't used yet ~ which will come in handy!!

Now for a bit of Mummy retail therapy!! Yes ~ I am very boring indeed!! I went to my favourite place ~ Waterstones Bookshop and they were doing a 3 for 2 offer on most of the titles ~ so how can a girl resist (where books are concerned ~ they have replaced chocolate in my life ~ tee hee ~ I cannot get enough of them!!!!).

I treated myself to 3 new books ~ 2 by Anita Shreve ~ The Pilots Wife and Light On Snow and the other by Nora Roberts (who I have never read before) ~ called High Noon!!

I am going to be making another visit to the book store very soon to buy the books that Kat recommended on her blog a while ago ~ which are the Twilight series (I think!!) ~ by Stephenie Meyer ~ I didn't see them today while I was in there ~ but I have checked on line and the local store should stock them. I am looking forward to reading them ~ and from what Kat has said ~ they sound really good!!!

This week has been very tiring ~ with it being the first full week of the holidays ~ and there being so many children!! I am actually glad that it is over (not that anything majorly bad has happened!!). Next week lauren will be at Dance School from 11 am to 4 pm ~ so that means that I only have Dan and the 2 children that I look after ~ so it will be a bit more relaxed!!!

For now ~ I am going to put the kettle on ~ make a nice cup of coffee and start on one of the new books ~ XX
