YIPPPPEEEEE ~ PRESENTING MISS LAURENS NEW BED!!

At 7.20 this morning ~ a lorry delivered a much awaited package to our house........
(Yes, believe it or not, there is a bed in that package.......)

At about 6.20 tonight I started to attempt to make the new bed ~ after much moaning by my darling daughter ~ Bless her ~ I suppose I cannot blame her, as she has been waiting (and sleeping on the airbed ) for a long time!!!!

Several hours (and alot of huffing and puffing by me ~ and a sore thumb from where the screwdriver slipped ~ hee hee)later and here is the finished product...............

My girl all happy with her new bed ~ with all her High School Musical bits and pieces (she has a new HSM pillow and blanket, that she has been saving for when her new bed arrived!!).

All that still needs doing is the little pink and purple tent that goes around the underneath ~ to make a den! I am too totally exhausted at the moment to even attempt to do that ~ so that can be done in the morning........and then the room is finished (apart from a bit of tidying up and sorting out ~ and moving about of toys and stuff!!)

Not alot else to tell you about today ~ apart from the fact that it rained (AGAIN!!). I did get a gorgeous little package from Belle and Boo (a gorgeous etsy shop) ~ with lots of little cute bits that I ordered......I will save that for tomorrow ~ as at the moment, all I want to do is jump in the shower and go to bed (making new beds is a bit tiring ha ha !!).

And the headlines today are............

It is still raining here ~ I got the wettest that I have ever been ~ fully clothed ~ while doing the school run this morning!! Then the sun came out for a few hours ~ but the rain was back at 3pm (suprise suprise!!) ~ just in time for the school run again........

There are still No carrots growing in the little tub that the children planted ~ with the amount of rain we have had the last 2 days ~ they have probably all floated away!! I was going to do a weekly update photo of the carrots ~ but it just looks the same as last time ~ just soil ~ plus it is bucketing it down outside (and I have got my Pj's on ~ I know it is only 6pm ~ but I got so wet earlier that I had to get change and they seemed like a good idea!!)......

My total weight loss for this week was.........Nil Nothing nada!!!! I knew that it would happen at some stage ~ after losing 2 and a half stone so quickly (and painlessly ha ha!!!!) ~ I was expecting there to be a week where it went on hold ~ I have lost half a stone over the last 2 weeks ~ so I suppose that there is a limit to what you can go on losing!! never mind ~ onwards I go ~ I am stepping up the power walking and have been doing the fitness DVD every night ~ so next week I expect to lose at least SOMETHING!!!!!!! According to the diet lady that I go and see, it is not uncommon to reach a plateau with weight loss ~ PLATEAU ~ that is a great description, when losing weight sometimes feels like lugging a huge rucksack up a big mountain!!! As long as I don't completely fall back down the mountain ~ I am not bothered ha ha!!!

I am in a much better mood today ~ despite it still being like the middle of winter outside ~ Laurens bed is hopefully coming tomorrow ~ and then the room can finally be all finished ~ Lauren has lots of plans for what she is going to do with the space under her bed ~ and apparently it will be a 'no boy zone!!!'~ which basically means that Dan will be banned (ha ha) ~ I am sure he will not be in the least bit bothered tee hee!!!

I have bought new curtains for the living room and had a quick peek at possible paint combinations at the weekend ~ still undecided about what colours to do ~ but I would really like to crack on and get it done ~ then the whole place has been decorated!! I can then sit back and admire my handy work ~ before starting all over again ha ha!!!

Well ~ that is about all for today ~ more news tomorrow ~ for now I am off to light a few yankee candles and relax in a huge big bubbly bath ~ for oh let me see..... at least 2 hours!! XXXX

What to do on a wet and windy day???

In a bid to cheer myself up and to stop Lauren moaning ~ I finally gave in and let her make some little cakes to take to school tomorrow ~ as it was her teachers birthday over the weekend!!
Here she is all ready to go ~ with the cakes, the icing and the chocolate sprinkles!! ~ (I cheated and bought some vanilla ready to go icing hee hee!!!!)

Cakes iced and chocolate sprinkles sprinkled on top (she ate the ones that were left on the plate ~ together with a whole lot of icing!!!

All ready to take to school in the morning ~ sweet little chocolate sprinkle cakes!!

Not satisfied with doing the cakes, Lauren decided that she wanted to make some chocolate chip cookies ~ so she could have one with her milk before bed!!

She did a really good job, rolling the dough into balls and putting the chocolate chips on!

All ready to go in the oven!

10 minutes later and ta da ~ chocolate chip cookies ~ home made by Lauren..........

Still feeling a bit fed up with the weather ~ I decided that we would go into town ~ a bit of retail therapy always cheers me up (even in the rain).

The children have been asking to go and see this film........

it was fantastic and my bad mood disapeared straight away ~ I love Kung Fu Panda sooooo much ~ I haven't laughed so much in a long time ~ and the children loved it too!! Popcorn and a big cup of frozen slushy drink and they were in cinema heaven!!

When the film was over, I took the chidren for something to eat and did a bit of shopping ~ I bought myself some flowers ~ I love flowers and all my birthday ones died a while ago.........

I also bought myself two of my favourite candles ~ Yankee Candles vanilla lime ~ I love the smell so much and will be burning them a little later!!!
I have cheered up since this morning ~ god knows what was wrong with me ~ maybe the british weather has finally got to me (I hate wet cold and grey days!!)........anyway, tomorrow is another day and at least I didn't eat the whole contents of the fridge or drink that bottle of wine (tee hee), so I suppose all in all it could have been worse!! XXX

I AM FED UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am totally fed up today ~ it is raining outside ~ no correction ~ it is pouring it down ~ and it is windy (I hate this weather ~ my hair gets blown about and then goes wavy in the rain ha ha!!!) ~ I washed all the bedding and towels last night (hoping for a sunny day like yestersday.....but no!!), SO ~ now I have a huge pile of wet washing, that cannot go on the line ~ so the tumble dryer is doing overtime ~ which means that the electric people are having a great time ~ making my bill even higher than it normally is!!! The children are 'bored' and apparently have nothing to do ~ despite the fact that they have half the contents of Toys R Us in their room!! ~ I could eat the total contents of the fridge and would kill for a bar of cadburys fruit and nut chocolate and feel like drinking the full contents of the bottle of wine that has been sat looking at me for the last 9 weeks (damn diet ~ whoever invented them should be shot!!!!) ~ All in all I hate today (tee hee!!!!!).........will be back later ~ hopefully in a better mood and feeling more cheerful (but then again maybe not!!!!).............

Most embarassing moment???

I popped round to one of my friends houses this morning, for a quick cuppa and a chat ~ while the children ran about in the garden. We got chatting about embarassing situations and we started laughing about the time that she was at my house and spilt tea down her trousers, so she took them off and was sat on the sofa in just her t ~ shirt. A little while later the doorbell rang and it was the builder (the property I live in is only a few years old and was being checked over at about that time!!), totally forgetting that she had no trousers on, I invited him in and he came into the living room, checked the double glazed window ~ that needed checking, turned around and said hello to Lesley (not even blinking an eye at the fact she was sat there in NO trousers) ~ turned and walked out. Leseley and I couldn't stop laughing ~ she was slightly embarassed that he had come in while she was trouserless ~ but we both thought that it was hilarious that he appeared to not even notice (or maybe he did and just pretended not to ha ha!!!).

This got me thinking about embarassing moments that have happened in my life ~ and believe me, there have been a few !!! One that particularly sticks in my mind is from when I was about 13 years old and living in Germany. I had gone shopping with my Mum and my Sister for school trousers, it was winter and very very cold ~ I had wooly tights on under my skirt ~ which always caused a problem....... I hate wearing tights, always have and always will (Lauren is exactly the same tee hee!!), the problem being that they would always fall down and feel uncomfortable ~ so my Mum suggested that I wore pants (knickers ~ underwear ~!!!!!) ~ under and over the top of my tights, so they would stay up (ha ha ~ yes ~ we are a very strange family!!!!!). Suprisingly this seemed to solve the problem!! Anyway ~ there I was trying on all these different pairs of trousers in the vain hope that one pair would look decent for school ~ and eventually I found a pair I liked. While I put my skirt back on in the changing room, my Mum took the unwanted trousers back to hang them on the rail. We all proceeded to the checkout ~ when my sister started to laugh (she is terrible ~ once she starts, she cannot stop!!!), my mum and I both looked at her and asked what she found so funny ~ THEN ~ in a big loud voice ~ she said "Look ~ there are Tabs Knickers....." and pointed to the floor by the trouser rail!!!
YES ~ she was quite right ~ there were my pants ~ on the floor for the whole shop to see........
(may I just point out here ~ that thankfully they were the clean pair that were put on over my tights!!!!!!!!). They had obviously got taken off with the trousers by mistake and had fallen out when my Mum put the trousers back on the hanging rail!!! I was only 13 and was totally mortified about it ~ my sister thought it was the most hilarious thing ever and my mum told me to go and pick them up (not bloody likely!!!). I just walked over and pushed them with my foot~ further under the hanging trousers, so that they were out of sight, before making a very hasty exit from the shop!!
My sister still reminds me of the incident to this day ~ I still hate tights to this day (infact I DO NOT wear them ~ no matter what ~ stockings are a much safer option!!! ha ha!!!)... the feeling of that day will stay with me forever (hee hee!!!)........

There have been many other moments in life ~ where I have wished that the ground would open and swallow me up ~ but I will save those for another day ~ I need some dignity (ha ha ha ha !!!).

How about you? Care to share one of your MOST embarassing moments!!!!???? Please do ~ it will make me feel alot better (tee hee!!!!!) XXXX
