As today is a Bank Holiday and none of us have to go to work or school ~ my friend Jane and I decided that it would be nice for a day at the beach.............typically the good old british weather had other ideas ~ and although (just for a change!!) it didn't rain, it wasn't hot enough for a day on the beach!!! Instead we decided to take the children to the woods for a walk and a picnic.

We had a truly fantastic time ~ a bit muddy in places ~ and the children had great fun exploring the woods and playing at the park at the end of the walk. Jane and I were doing a trial run of the speed walking that we are starting in a few weeks (decided that it is time to get fit ~ again!!!).

We have come home and had dinner, and the children are lying on the sofa (under my bed cover!!), watching a film......I am tired aswell and a bit muddy and in need of a bubble bath!!!!!
As far as Bank Holidays go ~ this has been a good one!!!!

I have had great fun looking through my photo boxes ~ some of the photos have made me laugh ~ and there were a few including one of me and my sister when we were alot younger, that I didn't even know I had (and she will kill me for posting it ha ha ~ I asked her if I could put a photo of her on my blog ~ she said yes!!! she would have said no if she knew which one ~ tee hee!!).

The photos of the children were taken when Lauren was about 2 and daniel was 6 ~ they were so funny then ~ if I got out the camera they would pose (now I have to chase them around just to get a photo!!!).

I have included a photo of me when I was in the Police, I don't quite know what I was doing ~ but the lack of body armour, radio etc etc tells me I was probably still at Police Training College (and the smile on my face tells me I hadn't been on the mean streets of the UK yet lol!!!!!).

I am still trying to upload Daniels baby photos ~ so I will share them with you and then give you a break.........don't want to bore you to death!!!!

It has been a real trip down memory lane today ~ a nice one and I am happy for the memories that it has brought back to me.

Teeny Weeny Lauren!

Just a few photos of Lauren that I have scanned in (and not very well ~ by the look of the top photo!!! never mind!!!). I am not totally sure how old she was ~ I think it was about 10 months ~ because that is when she first started to toddle about. Lauren has always been in a rush to do everything and walked and talked before her first birthday.

I love her face in the top picture ~ she used to stare at the camera and wait for the flash and then laugh for ages!!!!

I have found the photos of Daniel when he was a baby ~ so will do them next!!!!

I have been looking at some of my favourite blogs recently and some of them have had lovely photos of their children when they were babies.

Today I decided to sort out my photographs and found one of the first photos that Daniel and Lauren had taken together ~ It made me realise that in the blink of an eye the years have flown past and my two little babies are now 6 and 10!!! That just doesn't seem possible....

I have so many photos ~ I hadn't realised how many until tonight ~ some of them I had forgotten I had taken. It will take me a while to scan them all in the computer ~ but when I have I will share them with you!!!

Lauren was such a laid back baby and Daniel was such a proud 'big brother' (still is ~ and very protective too!!).

Washing woes!!

Today has been one of those days!!

Granted we have had lovely sunshine, so we have been out and about to the park and on a nature walk (we saw a horse.....that counts as nature!!!), and it has been a relaxed and slow day.

Then I came home and decided that the weather was so nice, I would put on a load of washing and get it out on the line to have a good blow ~ nothing unusual in that!!

Well, everything was quiet and calm.......until the washing machine went into the final spin and the noise was unbelievable ~ I thought the whole kitchen had fallen down!!!!

It finally came to a very noisy, shaky halt ~ at which point I decided to have a look and make sure the clothes were all ok ~ unfortunately the washing machine has other ideas.....the door will not open, so all my newly washed clothes are stuck inside ~ being held hostage by my Hotpoint (supersilent spin.......like yeah that's not quite true........) Washing machine!!!!
I have phoned the repair people, who have told me no one can come out until after the weekend, and they advised me to just leave the machine and not to try and force it open......even though my poor clothes are being held prisoner in there (haha!!).

So much for that line of fresh clothes blowing in the wind!!! ~

I just hope it has nothing to do with what happened last time the machine broke down............the nice (young!!!!!), Hotpoint man came out to fix it and very promptly found the problem.....one of the wires from my underwire bra had come out and got stuck in a pipe.......the embarassment I felt was evident in my bright red cheeks ~ as he held up the wire and said "Have you lost something?"..........before having a good chuckle to himself!!!!!!

Anyway, luckily one of my friends has said I can use her machine for the rest of the washing ~ until mine is fixed!!!

Not the best day I have ever had and to top it all off, the highlight of my whole day is that I have got to go and vote in the local elections.........I can hardly contain my excitement (not!!!!).

Never mind, I will go and vote and when I get back I will kick the washing machine and see if that helps.......if not, at least it will make me feel better!!!!!
