Crazy Spring Clean Lady!!

My image of me as a domestic goddess!!!

This is actually what I looked like today!!!!

Have you ever had one of those days where it seems like a really good idea to do something? and then 6 hours later - you wish you had never started!!! NO???? Well I have and today was one of them.....

When I got up this morning, I decided that as I was not working today and my 2 delightful children were spending the day at a friends - that I would have a little spring clean - you know the kind - just an hour or so - flicking a duster around and maybe a quick hoover here and there.

Well, that was the plan, but - as usual - once I got started I couldn't decide where to stop and what should have been a 'quick' sort out/spring clean became a 6 hour cleaning/tidying and sorting frenzy!!!! Admittedly the place looks alot better and the bin is full to the brim with stuff I have 'Spring cleaned' away - but I am totally exhausted and am in need of a shower and my bed (it is only just after 5pm). Just before the kids came home I looked in the mirror and scared myself - the messy haired - no makeup'd face staring back was infact me and not some mad woman who had broken in the place!!!!

My visions of being a domestic goddess are all but gone - and I look more like I have been wrestling with a giant bear all day (don't see many of them in these parts!!!!).

I think I need a rest now and maybe I will leave the spring cleaning - maybe a magic little elf will come in the night and finish it off for me (or maybe not!!).

Windchime!!

At last Lauren has finished her windchime - it has taken ages and ages, due to the fact that it has hundreds of little beads that have to be stuck onto it and little miss independant had to do it all herself (she actually got it as a present for christmas!!). Now it is finished and she is so proud of herself, it is going to hang in her bedroom window - but before I was allowed to put it there, I had to take some photos for the 'blog thingy' (Laurens words!!).

So here, finally is the long awaited windchime!!

Next up is the paint your own tea set kit - watch this space - it should only take her a few months to complete!! (Tee Hee!!)

Alot of love XX

I was thinking today, about my family, my children and how lucky I am to have so many people around me - who I love and who love and care for me.

My little corner of the world feels like a very warm and happy place tonight (belive me - this is not always the case!!!).

This is even evident in my little fishy fish tank - Bubble and Fin (please note that the children were 100% responsible for those names!!), have been lovingly gazing (yes fish can gaze lovingly - I am not mad....well maybe a tiny bit!!) out of the tank at me while I am typing this post....something that they do every night as I sit here - the fact that they are constantly hungry and want to be fed has absolutely nothing to do with their loving stares of course.

Life is not always easy and the world is not always a fair place - I know that first hand - but tonight at least all is well and there is such alot of 'love' floating about here - that even my fish are kissing!!!!

In Memory of Baby Ava

Several months ago, I came across a blog called untanglingknots.com and the story that I read there totally broke my heart. Three years ago today, a wonderful lady called Karla gave birth to her first child, a daughter called Ava. Sadly, Ava grew wings and flew to heaven that same day.

Today, in memory of Ava, we visited a local beach and released three balloons, as I am sure many many other people all over the world did too.

Avas story is not mine to tell, so if you would like to know more about her, please visit untanglingknots.com and show Karla your love and support on sweet baby Avas third birthday.

Happy Birthday Ava, you are in our thoughts today and always X

Shiny new shoes

Yesterday I had to take the children to have their feet measured - as it has been a while since they had new school shoes. Much as I hoped that they would have stayed the same size, they had both gone up half a size, so new shoes were the order of the day.

As i don't have anything else exciting to post today, I thought that I would post the shiny new shoes (Lauren wanted to wear hers to bed - she has always been like that since she was a toddler!!). The shoes are nice, but I love the bag that Laurens shoes came in and have been trying to convince her that she should let me have it (it hasn't worked so far!!).

I had to come home and have a glass of wine (for medicinal purposes of course), to help me recover from the price of the shoes.....they seem to get more expensive every time.
