TWINKLE TWINKLE

If I could give you the stars, I'd gather them inside my heart,
I'd wrap them in love and brighten your day with starlight ..

Snowy Day

These pictures are of what we woke up to this morning - Snow - quite alot of it aswell. It came as a bit of a shock, I can't ever remember it snowing that heavily here, in the 10 years that we have lived here.

The kids thought that it was great, so we were out quite early messing about in it and throwing snowballs (most of which were aimed at me - ha ha!!). We met up with my friend Jane and her kids and made a snowman in the garden.....unfortunately by about 1pm it had all started to thaw and it has all but gone now.

We are still off on the holiday tomorrow, although we have had to have a bit of a re think about what we will do, and have scoured the internet for some fun things to do if the weather is a bit colder than anticipated.

Hope you all have a nice week, we will be back late Friday, so no doubt I will update the blog on Saturday with all our boring - oops I meant very exciting holiday photos.

Suitcases and Sunglasses

The suitcase is packed - done, zipped up and ready to go!!!
I am definitly not going to unpack it again....whatever isn't in there - tough!! (ha ha).

We have had a pretty quiet day - for a Saturday - Ballet and Tap for lauren this morning and then a bit of last minute shopping for the week away next week. Lauren found some High School Musical pink sunglasses that she just had to have (even though the weather for next week looks like rain, rain and more rain!!). She has had them on constantly since we bought them, and when I went in to kiss her goodnight - she had them on in bed......I convinced her that she really didn't need them on at night, so they are safely stashed under her pillow (which is where all her treasures live - I have no idea how she sleeps on it!).

All that we need to do now is pick the hire car up on Monday morning and then we are off, Devon here we come....

Kind words

Kind words can be short and
easy to speak,
But their echoes are
truly endless.

These words were on a card that I was sent by a friend recently, and I thought I would share them with you .

Sometimes in this crazy world that we live in, a few kind words or a smile - can be priceless.

Peace

It is Friday night, the kids are fed, bathed and I have read them more bedtime stories than I thought possible. They are now tucked up in bed, fast asleep (have been for the last hour) - and Lauren in snoring loudly.....

This week has been hectic and at times my 2 children have driven me mad, BUT watching them sleeping peacefully I know that I love them more than life itself and no matter what they do or how they act, that will never ever change!!

My Morning....

This is how my morning went.....

We need to leave the house at 8.30am on the school run - Lauren was still sitting on the sofa in JUST her pants at 8.20am - major panic - apparently she couldn't get dressed because her arms wouldn't work!!

I managed to get stuck behind a tractor, which was crawling along on the busiest road between my house and the school - I couldn't overtake - so we just crawled along behind it (I just love tractors....NOT).

We were late for school, so the classroom doors were closed, so we had to try and sneak through reception (being in the SAS would be useful on mornings like this!!).

Got back home about 9.30 and there were NO tea bags - life is not worth living with out my morning cuppa!!!

I am sitting here now, with no cup of tea, a pile of washing you'd need mountaineering gear to get to the top of, a holdall that is not quite packed YET (well it was and then unpacked and packed again.....you know I am a bit of a packing disaster!!), and about 3 million things that need doing before I go on holiday next week...and I just can't be bothered to do any of it.....I have no energy, no enthusiasm and NO FLIPPING TEA BAGS!!!

On a brighter note, the SUN is shining outside - there is no work and no school runs for 2 whole weeks....I am going to Devon on Monday (YIPPEEEE!!!) and intend to eat and drink lots of really naughty things that I should really steer clear of (the diet can start again in May...or maybe June!!)
