My special star brought tears to my eyes.

This afternoon was Laurens school nativity play ~ which was called 'Humphrey the Camel!' ~ and after staying up until late last night getting the star outfit ready (Lauren was the giant dancing star!!) ~ I was excited to see how it all went!!

Well, I cannot deny that I had tears in my eyes (happens every year!) ~ the nativity was wonderful and considering the ages of the children (aged from 4 to 7 years) ~ they put on a fantatstic show for all the parents. Lauren did a little dance and held the star up high announcing the birth of baby Jesus ~ it was another day that I will remember forever.

She was very proud of her star ~ and I was quite pleased with the end result ~ I did cheat a bit and got the lady that lives next to me to sew the star with her sewing machine (tee hee) ~ then I stuffed it with the filling you use to stuff soft toys (also from the lady next door ~ thanks Joan!!) ~ then I tacked on the tinsel and there you go ~ a half decent star!! The outfit was made out of gold and white material which I bought this time last year ~ for the last nativity play!!

We were up early this morning so that Lauren could have her hair curled and she wanted to wear her star earrings ~ so she was happy with the end result and can't wait to do it all again tomorrow morning!!

Just a quick update from yesterdays weigh in ~ lost another 2 pounds ~ bringing the total to 4 stone and 11 pounds lost (67 pounds) ~ I now have my BEFORE pictures which were taken at the slimming club the first week I went (end of april this year) ~ just have to get to the AFTER photos ~ and then I will post them for you all to see (I have to get through Christmas first ~ all those mince pies ~ christmas pudding ~ baileys coffees and other yummy scrummy stuff!!) XXX

Getting there!!

Am still in a bit of a state of confusion here ~ tonight I have wrapped these presents ~ have a million more to wrap AND I must also somehow magic a gold and white star outfit up ~ for Laurens nativity tomorrow ~ she is a giant dancing star........all ideas gratefully received (PS ~ only one small set back........I can't sew tee hee!!! ~ wish me luck ) XXX

Blogging Break....

Things are a little hectic here at the moment ~ with Christmas looming ~ presents to wrap and stuff to organise for the childrens school etc ~ so I am going to be taking a small break from my blog ~ hopefully I will be able to get things all sorted out and will be back soon ~ Until then

I asked for a picture of my hair...........

..............AND my darling son (I use those words grudgingly tee hee!!) ~ decided that it would be so totally hilarious to take a picture of me ~ totally unaware ~ while I was switching on the christmas lights!!! So here is the result ~ and not very flattering may I add ha ha ~ I must remember to take a picture of him in an embarrasing position and then post it on here too (I am sooo mean!!)


Anyway ~ we continued after the embarassing bottom shot ~ to get some pictures of my hair ~ as I have just been to the hairdressers ~ the price it cost me ~ I think I am in the wrong profession ha ha !!!
The first photo was a disaster as Lauren was pulling funny faces and making me laugh ~ then she bent over and imitated the picture that Daniel had taken of my bum ~ which made me laugh even more!!


Then Dan decided to be a photography ace and took these pictures (bless him.........)

Not wanting to miss my sweet lad out ~ while we are on the subject of haircuts ~ here is Dan sporting his new haircut from yesterday.

You can't really see in the picture ~ but it is spiked up at the front ~ he looks so grown up now ~ can't believe that he will be 11 at the end of the month.

So, Dan and I are all ready for Christmas now ~ with our new haircuts ~ all I have to do now is convince Lauren to have hers cut ~ she is refusing totally at the moment ~ as she still wants to grow it ~ so short of sitting on her while she is in the hairdressers chair ~ I am not sure what I will do ha ha !! XXXXXX

The day after......

I have a rather sore head ~ don't know why? But I think that the rather large amounts of wine I drank last night MIGHT have something to do with it tee hee!!! I had a fantastic time ~ the food was wonderful and we laughed and chatted until very late and then drank more wine......which I have regretted slightly this morning!!

I was feeling fine until Lauren jumped on the bed and woke me up at about 7am, reminding me that she had ballet ~ um yeah ~ but that isn't until 11am ~ thanks Lauren !!

I have uploaded some pictures ~ which true to form have come out in totally the wrong order ha ha ~ the ones below were meant to come last ~ but hey ~ you live and learn!!

Anyway ~ in no particular order ~ here are some pictures (tee hee)


We started to decorate the window with the christmas icicles and they kept falling down ~ then I almost fell off the chair (this was prior to the wine drinking may I add), so we gave up and left it at this ~ they do look pretty and they twinkle very nicely!!

This is the photo that Daniel took of me last night before I went out ~ believe me ~ it was the best of a very bad selection ~ his photography skills are nearly as bad as mine!!

I had to have a change of outfit ~ as due to the freezing weather and a lack of sleeves on the other sparkly top ~ I decided that a top with sleeves may be needed (yes ~ I am very boring wearing black!!)

Lauren took this one ~ the look on my face is saying " For goodness sake child just press the flipping button already!!" ~ she stood there for ages ~ waiting until it looked 'just right' ~ before she would press the button ~ by which time I had almost lapsed into a coma tee hee!!!

Prior to taking a picture of me ~ Lauren decided that a self portrait was in order "Do I look pretty Mummy?" she asked ~ TOTALLY GORGEOUS !!!!!!

After her ladyship had been to her ballet lessons I decided that it would be a good idea to get Daniels hair cut ~ as he was starting to resemble a rather shaggy looking dog!! So we headed off to town and it was packed (again!!), it took us about half an hour to park ~ not that bad really!

When we walked into the town centre we saw that there were amusements and funfair rides and an ambulance and fire engine that the children could look at ~ as well as a marching band and other entertainanments. Dan had his haircut (I will post pictures tomorrow ~ my head can't cope with any more photo disasters at the moment) ~ and he looks quite grown up now ~ it is scarey!! Then we headed to the amusements and the children had a go on the rides and played catch the (plastic) duck and won prizes ~ then they wanted to go to Mcdoanlds for lunch (just what you DON'T need when you feel a bit fragile!! I must admit that the fresh (freezing cold) air did make me feel alot better!!

Tomorrow I am off to the hairdressers (they are fantastic ~ they open until 8pm most nights and on Sundays too!!) ~ so we are back to the same dilema ~ what do I have done ~ I quite like it a bit longer ~ as it is at the moment ~ but some days I would like it shorter ~ suppose I will see how the mood takes tomorrow when I am sat in the chair.XXXX
